I know you're all fascinated by these updates. Whistle Whistle

All gone a bit pear shaped for the Blue Jays since the Yankees came over the border!!!  Lost the first two in the series so now 1.5 games back of them.  At least you are still leading the Wildcard standings. Cubs now have the hottest streak going with 9 wins on the trot!!

Tanaka would have been hard to beat yesterday. My son is right. The trouble with long streaks is that when they come to an end, the club tends to  take it harder than necessary. Clubs that do best are those that win 2 out of 3 consistently. Anyway, if the Jays can pull one back this p.m. there's still over 40 games to go and it might come down to last wk of season.

Drew Hutchinson pitched well into the 7th using a great combination of fast balls, cutters and change ups. Bautista homered into the second deck off Severino's slider. Mardy Yankees will say it was an error in the outfield, a fly ball lost in the sun, that resulted in the Jay's inning continuing. But, justice was done as prior to then, a jay's hitter was ruled struck out, when the pitch was nowhere near the plate.

After the game, the Jays high fived, hugged one another, spitting their baccy all over the place.

That answer your question Maddix? Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle

I said I'd post the excerpts from my book as they were published in The Star. Thurny asked me to do this. That's when he used to think I was a decent guy.  Doh Just kidding Thurny. Laugh

Anyhow, here it is. From last weekend's Star. About my time at High Storrs when Elvis was King and Johnny Fantham ruled Hillsboro. Whistle Whistle

Memories of marching up to the shops at Bents Green to "meet up" with the posh kids of Silverdale!! That happened regularly in my years at High Storrs although like your story never really materialized into anything!! Usually ended up being a good excuse to go get some sweets from the newsagents at Bents Green!

Did you have a "tuck shop" in the school when you went SCO? Used to be run by prefects.

I don't remember one but to be fair my mum never sent me to school with any money anyway.  Maybe Madsteve can remember if there was on in his days there.
