SG says he is a 442 man as though it is a badge of honour and this does get the majority of fans on his side because most fans prefer 442 because that is what everyone played 25 years ago. Unfortunately an increasing number of coaches have moved on & can put out teams to expose a rigid 442. What on earth are you lot going to do? Competing in three competitions at once I can see you failing in all of them. RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Statesideowl - 06-01-2015 This is very true, the old 442 system is a dead/dying format in modern football. How many teams these days play with a lone striker? especially in the EPL. We have a decent squad to be fair, not world beaters by any stretch of the imagination, just decent footballers who have shown that they can really pull it together when they work for one another. RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Towinjustonce - 06-01-2015 Seen serious rumours that we are about to be sold to a Thai group. It was on Sky !! So much for keeping it under wraps. Lets wait and see !! RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Owlkev71 - 06-01-2015 Yeah, just seen it myself too. "Sky Sources: Milan Mandaric in advanced talk with investors from Thailand to sell club for around £30m" Please be true. Sky Sports News HQ understands that talks will continue later this week over a proposed deal worth around £30m. Sheffield Wednesday would become the second club in the Championship to be owned by a Thai-based group, along with Reading. Mandaric, 76, took over the Hillsborough club in late 2010, buying 99.7 per cent of their shareholding for £1 after agreeing to settle their outstanding debts. The Serbia born businessman had to step down as chairman of Leicester City as Football League rules prevented him from being in such a position with two different clubs. He was in talks to sell Wednesday last summer to Azerbaijan businessman Hafiz Mammadov, but that deal collapsed in early September after contracts had been exchanged. Mandaric revealed in November that the club was losing £6m a year as he continued to search for a buyer who could inject much needed finance.
