RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - aries22 - 03-08-2015 How can we be reported to have made a bid if Tony Pulis isn't interested? Also, TP isn't all 6ft 6 centre backs and long throw merchants. He can pick a player if he feels he's right for the job in the team. Let's give him a bit more credit. RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - WBA-Josh - 03-08-2015 Praet started at left midfield at least 10 times last season in a 4-4-2 and he was always moved to left midfield during matches if Anderlecht brought on another striker and changed to 4-4-2. Left midfield may not be his best position but he is good there if the 2 strikers are good and he can supply them. We have Lambert and Berahino to lead our line so it shouldn't be a problem. The chances of us signing Praet are probably low given the other teams that are interested but if we do really want him, can sell the Pulis Project to him and then sign him for a club record fee, we could definitely fit him into the team. It would be either on the left side of midfield in the typical Pulis 4-4-2, which is most likely what it would be, or in the "hole" after a change of shape to a 4-2-3-1 which Pulis actually did in his final year with Stoke. The press can report whatever they want. They have reported that we have bid for hundreds of players over the years that we have had absolutely no interest in. Also, I never said anything about 6-foot-6 centre backs, but it is a fact that the 5 players we have signed under Pulis have been British/Irish and the others we have been heavily linked with (Sako, Antonio, Phillips etc.) are all based in the English league system. There is absolutely no way Pulis will go in for Praet, as much as I would like it to happen. bill howell @billhowell68 4h4 hours ago Want to clear up a rumour. 11m euro offer of Dennis Praet simply not true. #wba made enquiry in early summer and left it at that There we go. As much as Bill Howell seems to know f all, I believe him on this one. RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - Dingle-Dingle - 04-08-2015 West Brom's 33-year-old striker Rickie Lambert, who left Liverpool to join the Baggies, hopes he can rediscover his goalscoring form and regain a place in the England side. (Birmingham Mail) DD Just about sums up the pampered twats............. Di Maria's move has been delayed as he was too tired to have a medical after a 20-hour trip from his native Argentina to Doha. (Daily Mail) DD RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - silverbaggie - 04-08-2015 Who is this James Wilson that we are hoping to get on loan from Man Ure? The 21 year old is not only considered one of the best youngsters in Belgian football, but all around Europe. Whilst there has been recent interest from Aston Villa and Everton, West Brom seem to have pushed ahead in the race to sign the youngster." He must be making one of these statements up or is just to lazy to check the stories himself, which is the true story #typical journo RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - wba_1996 - 04-08-2015 I just can't see someone like Praet being signed whilst Pulis is manager. Sessegnon plays in the same position and is our best player on his day and isn't trusted to start. Plus the fact that Praet isn't British and the chances of this being a remotely possible signing are very slim. I rate Pulis as probably the best manager any 10th-20th placed club in the PL could get, but even Iniesta wouldn't get a kick under him. IMO TP can pull surprises and line teams up in an 'un-TP' kind of way - look how he got Palace playing after consistantly serving up a completely different type of 'football' at Stoke. Like most successful people, he's probably pretty good at evolving and changing things to suit - no doubt better than some of us give him credit for. Let's hope there IS an entertainer inside him, straining (and just about succeeding) to get out!! Cardiff 0-3 Crystal Palace, 5th April 2014 Massive result for Palace under Pulis which pretty much sealed both clubs fate. Palace line-up: Speroni, Ward, Mariappa, Delaney, Dann, Puncheon, Dikgacoi, Jedinak, Ledley, Bolasie, Jerome 6 British players, 4 centre backs, 2 traditional wingers, no space for a number 10 in the 'Praet' mould. |
