Forgot the "m"......oh, hang on - he's a Scottish keeper........a fiver's about right RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - Kookiebags - 01-08-2015 Afternoon All, Just commenting on what has happened so far. Firstly, Boaz signing an new 2 year deal, and 5 mil interest in keeper means (to me ) Fozzie injury may be career threatening. Lambert, 33 ish, good signing at 3 mil, but we must keep SB. J.Chester, good replacement at r/b, l/b/ C/b, any where back, but would still like another "proper Full back " as TP still does not seem keen on what is inherited, so need to invest in cover at least. Sakory Bako, Dingle that he was, would, imo, be the type of Zoltan Gera player that we , again in my humble opinion, need, as TP does not seem to impressed with Sessegnon. Wingers abound with Mc Lean and McManaman, and what we have before, but we still need the box to box destroyer, with Mulumbu gone, Morrison getting on a bit, Fletcher being , again IMO, not what I expected of him, and Gardner not between either camp, Yacob seems in vogue, but temprement and bookings/reds being his shortfall, do we need an altertnative ? Still would like to see us raid Wolves, with their Striker, Benik Afobe, being a direct replacement for Vic Anechebe, as "sicknote " should be moved on (A swap would not be bad business). All in all, not unhappy with progress, but can still see a BIT OF BUSINESS going on between now and end of window. Cheers, Kookiebags. RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - aries22 - 01-08-2015 A tad hard on our midfielders there I think, Kookie. Morrison is entering his prime, Gardner's well worth his place, Fletcher's fine and Yacob is good too, but I agree he needs to cut out the cards. Welcome to Sports Babble! RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - Stairs - 02-08-2015 Not one to worry normally and the £15m for SB from Spurs was just a joke. But now Man City are also rumoured to be interested and the bookies have reduced the odds on him leaving us, I am concerned. I would like to keep the lad but, money talks. If we sold him for £25m and had a replacement striker, fair enough. But with a week to go I fear we'd be cash rich and striker poor! RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - silverbaggie - 02-08-2015 Why would Saido go to City; he'd never get a game as they are already awash with star players? He'd just be another Izzy Brown. Earning pots of money, have a flash car but, never get to play for the first team. Wouldn't do his chances of an England cap any good at all. RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - Dingle-Dingle - 02-08-2015 Newcastle have joined Tottenham in targeting West Brom striker Saido Berahino, 21, who is likely to cost about £20m. (Sunday Express). West Ham will step up attempts to sign QPR striker Charlie Austin, 26, who is valued at £15m, following the injury to current Hammers striker Enner Valencia. (Sunday Mirror) Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood faces concerns over new signing Jose Crespo, 28, who injured his knee half an hour into his debut against Nottingham Forest. (Birmingham Mail) DD RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - aries22 - 02-08-2015 If Saido goes, and I wouldn't settle for less than £20 million, we must spend the money to bring Charlie Austin to Albion. That to me is a no-brainer. It would be an insult to Albion fans to let Saido go to Newcastle. They are terrible given the crowds they get. There must be nothing else to do on Saturday afternoons on Tyneside. The best thing we can do is get him to sign a new four-year contract. That will up his price considerably. We ought also to give him a big rise and pay him £60,000 a week. He's still currently on £14,000 a week. RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - DanTheSmethwickMan - 02-08-2015 14? I thought we gave him a new one that was worth 40 k a week?? RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - Worldclassalbion - 02-08-2015 If Saido wants to play at the TOP level then I'm Sorry Spurs and Newcastle.........You aren't it so stop wasting your time, especially Spurs. The money they spend year after year and still nowhere near and I love the Toon but they are delusional as well. If Citeh offer £25m You gotta sell, as he's worth nowhere near that (Yet). |
