If he signs .... the way our windows go not convinced, and if the rumours 're Chester are correct (£10 million) then our gross outlay is £7 million or less so far. Dependant on the rest of our previous summer departures. Hardly breaking the bank to spend our tv money windfall. Hoping for signings to make our season more comfortable.

Interesting point! Seem to recall that Jeremy's policy was to spend "Year A" TV money in "Year B"......which was very prudent if you think about it. Wonder if Lai/Williams will have the same policy or, more adventurously, spend "Year A" in "Year A".

Talksaft, your point is very valid, not knocking JP, I said on another thread, I will be eternally grateful to him for how our club has stabilised, good management, but we need to spend more as we are currently short on numbers and quality. If we spend year A in Year B it could be in the championship. I appreciate you did not advocate that policy only highlighted our previous history.

Good and interesting posts!
IMO surely we wouldnee be "breaking the bank " even if we spent £30m or so more in this window? Isn't this TV deal meant to be worth somewhere near £70m? If so, for a club such as us with no debts (am I right there?) spending £30 or even £40 million would leave the owners with a huge profit....so where's the risk?
(I must be missing something here!)  Huh  Blush

Drewks, that was my point, we have money to burn and for one reason or another we haven't spent it yet ...... please spend some ....,
