RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Jan 30) Still no striker...... - aries22 - 30-01-2015 I can't get excited at all about Diego Forlan, he's the wrong side of 35 for a start and I just wonder what his motivation's going to be. I'd rather have had Danny Ings, but that's not going to happen now with Liverpool signing him, and Gestede looks ok too, but I'm reasonably optimistic that Big Vic is going to start scoring goals again now. With Callum McManaman on board, I think our midfield options have improved considerably. If we still want another wide player, then Aaron Lennon surely must be being looked at. As for all the paper talk about Sako, I hope it's just that. I don't rate him for the PL. RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Jan 30) Still no striker...... - Northwalesbaggie - 30-01-2015 Forlan!!!. More like Forlorn Hope!!. He couldn't hit a barn door when he was younger & at Manure, so he isn't going to cut the Mustard in the PL at 35 plus. Sorry, but not for me. If JP is willing to spend dosh, Danny Ings for me all day long. RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Jan 30) Still no striker...... - wba_1996 - 30-01-2015 The time to get Forlan was when he left Atletico Madrid at 32, we would have got a good 3 seasons out of him and he was still a world class player. Not now, I would leave him well alone. RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Jan 30) Still no striker...... - Tom_Wba - 30-01-2015 Rumours about linking Ings to Liverpool if that happens then i would think Lambert could well end up at West Brom, Ifs and buts i know but something will happen Monday RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Jan 30) Still no striker...... - drewks - 30-01-2015 (30-01-2015, 17:11)Tom_Wba Wrote: Rumours about linking Ings to Liverpool if that happens then i would think Lambert could well end up at West Brom, Ifs and buts i know but something will happen Monday ...but if Ings is going to be loaned back to Burnley for the rest of the year - which is part of any deal, or so I've read - then that rules out Lambert, surely? With that prat Balotelli not even firing on ONE cylinder they're not going to let out another striker without getting at least 1 more in RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Jan 30) Still no striker...... - Tom_Wba - 30-01-2015 (30-01-2015, 19:38)drewks Wrote:Oh right didn't actually read that just been reading the headlines, that rules that one out then(30-01-2015, 17:11)Tom_Wba Wrote: Rumours about linking Ings to Liverpool if that happens then i would think Lambert could well end up at West Brom, Ifs and buts i know but something will happen Monday RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Jan 30) Still no striker...... - Squirrel Regis - 30-01-2015 Premier league rules say you can't buy a player and then loan him straight away to another premier league club.... Great news if Liverpool go for Ings would love Lambert at the Baggies ! Ricky not the fool managing the Villa lol ! Burnley not sure where the story came from, Also premiership Rules say if a player is bought from a premier league team, it cannot be loaned back or to any other premiership team during that season Oh come on surely not http://www.itv.com/news/update/2015-01-30/hull-close-to-signing-spurs-winger-on-loan-reports/ According to the Mirror .................... Trying to sign FC Basel's Chilean international midfielder Marcelo Diaz according the Mirror. Bundesliga side Hamburg have agreed a fee of around £4 million but he apparently favours a move to England. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-tottenham-target-saido-berahino-5074369 I know very little about him but a bit of quick research suggests he's a small central midfielder, not too dissimilar on stature to Blanco, but with a bit more physicality and bite in his game. Looks a decent passer too. RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Jan 30) Still no striker...... - Slick_Footwork - 30-01-2015 Marcelo Diaz would be a great addition. Every time I've seen him for Chile and Basle he's bossed the midfield and that includes games against Chelsea and Spurs. Thought he was Chile's best player along with Sanchez when they dominated England at Wembley. Also remember that he was the player who covered the most miles in the Champions League, so puts a shift in as well as being really classy on the ball. |
