RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 27) WBA enquire about midfielder...... - BBB - 27-01-2015
To be honest, I'd have preferred we pay over the odds for the young Birmingham winger, say £2,5M knowing his potential for years ahead, and the the balance from that Mac... deal, given towards extra wages for Fletcher.
And why we are getting/got rid of another winger i don't know as he wasn't given a chance to prove himself.
RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 27) WBA enquire about midfielder...... - Salopbaggie - 28-01-2015
BBB I am sure you must mean Demarai Gray. I have mentioned him a few times in different posts and no one else seems to rate him, they did not comment anyway.
Maybe his second half performance after coming on against us on Saturday people might have noticed him. Even so, he was not as hot against us, as I have seen him. Still impressive though.
I doubt 2.5m would get him though as some of the big boys have been having a sniff.
He is not the finished article yet, but the most exciting young player I have seen in a while, a little bit like Laurie Cunningham when he was at Orient. He is not afraid to run at a player, Willie Johnston style, though not as cocky with it , and he can let one fly with the best of them.
I would go as far as say I would rather have him than anyone we have been associated with so far and just hope he can cut it (I am sure he can) against better defenders.

McManaman confirmed now too. Great signing, a real talent IMO

Excitement at McManaman signing resulted in the accidental and non recoverable deletion of the striker links I had built up. Sorry - will revisit rumours over the month and add them when the working week permits.
Probably not too disastrous as we are now heading into the exciting weekend next fixture and Mondays transfer deadline excitement.

I'd take Forlan if he was 10 years younger but, do we really want a 35 year old running our attacking line.
Might as well re-sign SuperKev.

Come on JP use the money you have saved by not keeping Brown Ideye to take a chance on this lad.
He's fast, skilful and not afraid to take players on as we saw when he came on against us.
