Stoke City reached their 1st FA Cup semi-final in 1899 where they lost 3-1 to Derby County in front of 26,000 fans.

In 1903, Derby County lost 0-6 to Bury in the final. This is still the record defeat in finals.

That final was played at The Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace FC were founded there in 1905 and have lost two finals in 1990 and 2016, both against Manchester United.
