RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - St Charles Owl - 01-02-2015

I would advocate patience in terms of permanent transfers but I think we should definitely hit the loan market and improve the team that way if we can!! Permanent transfers can wait until the summer, maybe with a new manager and certainly at more reasonable prices than now!!

I would be looking to bring in players that are flexible in playing different formations whereas SG will be looking at players purely for 442.

Let SG do what he thinks is best and what he knows for the remainder of the season. If he can improve the team then you never know, even if it is 442 he uses. We are very unlikely to get sucked into the relegation zone, so let him have a chance to get us a few goals and wins by bringing some loanees in.

My fear is that he will sign two or three players on three or four year contracts who turn out to be Nuhui, Coke & McCabe.

Well he has only one day to do that!! I am hoping the Bus deal (is this confirmed yet??) and the McGugan deal (is this confirmed yet??) will be our only purchases, the rest will have to be loans, so temporary signings only hopefully!!

SG didn't sign any of them so you can't critisise him for their signings. From what I've seen he has a good eye for players but hasn't been backed thus far

Nice one, hopefully we can park the 'Bus' in front of goal..

Getting my coat as I type..

No, but we might end up with players who are not what we need but are signed up for years.

Interesting that our two best signings (Westwood & Lees) were Paul Aldridge signings.

we won't know until he's actually allowed to sign someone. Didn't do too bad with Drentthe, McGugan, Dielna or Hutch. Too ealry to tell with Keane and Baker but they look lively

Kelhar has signed on until the end of the season.
