RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - Was Wereham Owl - 19-05-2023 I will uncross my fingers now .... till Wembley @ least ....GTFI !!!!! RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - 4evaabaggie - 19-05-2023 SCO, and your gang, Can I say, Congratulations Owls, great fightback, great result. Very very pleased for big Dave, he is a man mountain and an Albion legend. A true inspiration and a role model to be looked up to, calm and dignified in the face of bigoted abuse. still very much loved by the baggies. Good luck at Wembley, look forward to seeing you at The Hawthorns next season. RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - Statesideowl - 19-05-2023 Moore certainly exceeded himself with the tactical changes. Putting Flint upfront for the extra height payed off with the assist for Palmer's goal. Why can't he just step out of his little box and do things like this more often in games, take a chance? It's his insistence on being Mr Safe that causes most of the problems. There's no reward without risk, last night was a prime example of it. I really, really hope Moore learned something last night and adopts a similar tactical approach to the final. We're not topping that performance but close to it would be amazing. Flint should also have to play the final wearing that bucket hat. For the next 10 days though, we're back in with a shout! Well done, Darren he deserves massive credit for that. Blunts and Dingles are suddenly very quiet today. RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - themaclad - 19-05-2023 Almost 29 years to the day Dazza played at Deepdale in the 2nd leg play off Torquay were 2 up they lost 4-1 AET and Dazza got sent off for trying to punch Paul Raynor into the Deepdale Plastic RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - Maddix - 19-05-2023 (19-05-2023, 15:13)peiowl Wrote: They were magnificent!!!! Not sure about that Pie. Most of the game we were running about like headless chickens with not much good football played. We more overwhelmed them rather than outplayed them but I'll take that RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - Statesideowl - 19-05-2023 Ferguson and Posh fans screaming we cheated because the Referee actually added on the time they wasted for all the FK's Goal kicks and Throw ins throughout the game. How are you going to start flopping and casually strolling towards the line to take throw ins then complain about added time?? Should we complain about him pulling us up for 23 fouls but only pulling them up for 11? Should we complain that we had legitimate penalty shouts in both legs ignored? Tag, you're it Posh. You choked! When they put the board up it says a minimum not a maximum. If you chose to waste time in that period it will get extended. I don't understand their argument RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - Statesideowl - 19-05-2023 Exactly! I was aggravated throughout the game as the Ref never pulled them up or carded them for blatant time wasting. It wasn't untill the end of the game it became apparent that he'd taken note of it all and added it on instead of repeatedly telling them to "get on with it" So in the end it was their own fukkery that came back to bite them as far as time is concerned. They're very bitter and not processing it well at all lol RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - Imre varadi - 19-05-2023 Hopefully in a short while the nobhead will be relegated to his own league pmsl RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - St Charles Owl - 19-05-2023 Moore pulled a few masterstrokes last night - playing Palmer in midfield, playing James as one of the back three and putting Paterson in. He held off changing things until the 88th minute, it was clear his message was to the starting 11 was run yourselves into the ground because its you lot who have to win this for us, and when Vaulkes came on it added his throw-in as a weapon that got us the 4th goal. Bannan made a couple of vital tackles when they threatened to break and there was one time when they did break and the player that chased the attacker with the ball down the line before making the tackle was Windass!! The shift they all put in and the way they supported each other by covering when needed was spot on. What's more interesting is reading the player interviews after the game, seems Moore was showing them videos of comebacks by teams constantly, they went through every goal we have scored this season and they practiced penalties for the last three days. It was all designed to instil belief that anything was possible. I also noticed that Moore was talking to Simon Ireland more than Jamie Smith, not seen that before. Plus 2 subs were made in the 6 mins, one by us and one by them, that in itself adds 1 minute automatically. Obviously Fergie thinks Fergie time is just for his family!!! |
