Bad day for England, but good recovery from the Windies after last weekend's hammering. Hopefully it'll make for a closer match.

Well this is a right turn around. England leading by over 250 now. I'd say we were favourites to win.

All three results possible going into final day, but England win most likely. Ten wickets needed and the home side take the series.

The twists and turns just keep coming. Going into the final session all three results still a possibility. West Indies need 123 to win, England need seven wickets. Could meander to a draw, or the Windies could throw caution to the wind and give us a result one way or t'other. A really good finale in the offing.

Windies nearly there now. 10 to win.

And that, young Rooty, is why we keep batting until it's impossible to lose. It's test cricket. You don't make silly declarations.

West Indies win by 5 wickets.

Delighted for the West Indies series decider at Lord all to play for

That deserves to go down as a classic Test match; just a shame England came out on the losing side. Can't fault Root for the declaration, to be honest; the West Indies looked there for the taking on Monday evening.

Fingers crossed the last Test will be a stonker now.

Aye well, the Ashes could go either way this winter. The Aussies have just been beaten in Bangladesh. Laugh

We got beaten in Bangladesh too!
I've no problem with roots declaration, a lot of the people who complain will also have complained when strauss and cook failed to declare. I feel root backed his bowlers and then by and large failed. Moeen didn't bowl the right line for the most of the day, neither did broad nor woakes and anderson didnt swing the ball as much as expected. A few dopey catches dropped too.
Things that I'm worried about, bar the number three spot, are woakes' pace is down, but hopefully that is due to his injury and will pick up. Broad is down on pace and doesnt/cant bowl those deliveries that destroyed south africa and Australia a few years ago, he has unlucky moments, but he seems half the bowler he was.
Tbh I'm worried about the lack of pace in general coming from the english bowling cabinet full stop. Hopefully allan donald or jason Gillespie replace the outgoing otis gibson, if richard johnson replaces him, I'll well and truly have lost belief in the ecb to do whats best for english cricket

Agree sometimes you have to be brace with declaring Root took a chance lost but made it a great days cricket thing that worries me about England there is no one to replace Anderson and Broad, in hindsight should have played TRJ
