RE: Sporting Integrity - hibeejim21 - 26-11-2015 Folk seem to be struggling with the fact that Dundee are happy to waive home advantage to play in the states. No one is forcing them to give up their "advantage". I cant understand it either Paignton. Celtic want a franchise out there,no idea what Dundee think they will get out of it - and its their owners who are pushing for it. Celtic have played to decent crowds there in the summer maybe Dundee think they will make more money? Don't know,I don't like the idea. Philadelphia confirm they have been approached to host it. I mean how much do Dundee make from a 9k game with Celtic at home anyway? Maybe they potentially make more this way. RE: Sporting Integrity - Fredstersafool - 26-11-2015 And there ye have it Philadelphia has the second largest Irish community in America RE: Sporting Integrity - Paigntonhibby - 26-11-2015 I really hope this idea gets nipped in the bud, Scottish teams should play their Scottish league games in front o'scottish supporters in,erm, scotland RE: Sporting Integrity - El Car - 26-11-2015 I don't see how it would generate any new interest. The only people who would go are people who are already follow Celtic ie. first or second generation Irish or Glaswegian immigrants. Dundee might as well just ask to switch their home game to Celtic Park in return for keeping the gate receipts, which is basically what they're after. I'm a bit surprised to see members of the 'sporting integrity' crowd on here struggling to see why there would be anything wrong with Dundee giving Celtic an unfair advantage over them in exchange for cash. RE: Sporting Integrity - St Charles Owl - 26-11-2015 As I said earlier, the MLS will kick up a stink about this just as they did when the 39th Premier league game was mentioned. I also can't see FIFA or UEFA sanctioning this game, it doesn't provide any benefit to either organization. As for Scottish football, it is on TV over here with one game per week usually on Fox Sports I think but it has very, very little profile in the mainstream sports programs, well behind the PL, La Liga, Bundeslegia and Serie A, as well MLS. Dundee must be doing this for a quick money earner but as Paignton said this is so unfair on the local community in Dundee who probably make more out of this fixture than any other each year. This screws the Dundee and Celtic fans who wouldn't be able to attend, something Dundee should be concerned about far more than Celtic but both should be promoting Scottish football from Scotland not from the US!! You could play hibs in new York, the four in hand might even run a bus. RE: Sporting Integrity - Fredstersafool - 26-11-2015 jim Jesus would have problems with a bus travelling on water I doubt Paul Kane could either lol RE: Sporting Integrity - hibeejim21 - 26-11-2015 (26-11-2015, 12:05)Fredstersafool Wrote: jim Jesus would have problems with a bus travelling on water I doubt Paul Kane could either lol Don't worry fred, rangers might move the tie to north korea RE: Sporting Integrity - El Car - 26-11-2015 What happens to season ticket holders by the way? Do they get flown out for it at Dundee's expense? RE: Sporting Integrity - Fredstersafool - 26-11-2015 Do clubs normally pay for fans travel to games?? |
