The ref booked Kasumu for simulation, but not the two Rotherham players who simulated to get Sorba sent off. Doh Angry Sad

No problem with the Sorba sending off, no problem that the ref didn’t give it as a penalty as at first watch it looked like a dive. It’s only after several replays from different angles did it look like a penalty so you can’t blame the ref for that.

I do have a problem that we are still playing two wingers as forwards and a central attacking midfielder as a wide player. You could here the support chanting for Danny Ward but he never got on the pitch and our other striker not even on the bench with the club saying he’d been Ill, something he has disputed on X

Let’s face it, we couldn’t beat the worst team in the division. It screams of relegation

Have to disagree about the so called dive, Wakey. The ref's right there, no players blocking his view. The defender's leg comes out and trips him.

Looked like more of a trip on Kasumu than Sorba's 2nd yellow looked on their guy.

RE: Millers v Terriers - 16-03-24 - Lord Snooty - 18-03-2024

Inconsistency of referees. Sorba gets a second yellow yesterday for a nothing of a challenge. Not even a foul.

Bruno Fernandes today against Liverpool, having already been booked, flies in, studs up, hacks down a Liverpool player. The ref sees it because he gives the foul. No second yellow.

The game stinks.

Apologies, I never got round to giving the quiz answers. I've been driving up and down the M54 on hospital visits keeping an eye on a friend who collapsed after getting a UTI, which then also sent her slightly bonkers. I've enough material to keep the local pub entertained for years to come.

1. Who or what was Mick the Miller? A world famous pooch, or greyhound to be exact. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mick_the_Miller
Mick the Marmeliser was a Diddyman Snoots, or possibly you may also have meant Dicky Mint? You never did work down the Jam Butty mines under Stanley Park did you?

2. Who famously lived and worked at Colley's Mill and where was it? Windy Miller, Camberwick Green I'm amazed none of you old farts recalled this from your childhood.
See TrumptonshireTunes to relive the life you never dreamed you had.
3. There are pubs on the Burnley Road at Mytholmroyd and Halifax Road, Hove Edge (Brighouse) with (give or take a "The") the same name.
Name those pubs? (Apologies to non-locals but an inspired guess will maybe get you the answer). The Dusty Miller (with or without the The). Others exist in the area as pointed out.
4. Where is the cobbled street, made famous in the Hovis advert? Clue - it's not in Rotherham. The street is Gold Hill in Shaftesbury, Dorset.
5. What was previously on the site of Noo Yark Stadium? It's built on the site of the former Guest and Chrimes factory, a brass foundry.
6. Which river flows by the stadium and which other stadium does it occassionally flood? This is indeed the River Don and Hillsborough has been a paddling pool on several occasions. [Image: %2Fmethode%2Ftimes%2Fprod%2Fweb%2Fbin%2F...esize=1500]
7. Which trophy have The Millers won twice? The Football League Trophy (in one or another of it's many guises).
8. Which division have The Millers spent most time in? They've spent a record 47 seasons in what is currently League 1 (third tier). 26 in the 2nd tier and 13 in the 4th.
9. Who is Rotherham's all time leading scorer?. I'd have gone for the same bloke as you Snoots to be honest, but it is Gladstone Guest (26 June 1917 – 17 July 1998). Through Guest's ten years at Rotherham he managed 358 league appearances and 130 league goals between 1946 and 1956, this made him Rotherham United's record league goal scorer. He later was a groundsman there.
10. What was The Millers previous ground called, how far away is it from the current one and why is it still there? Millmoor and it's about a 10 minute walk if you get a shift on. The pitch was apparently the smallest in English Football, slightly smaller than Arsenal's old Highbury pitch. For some reason scrap metal merchant and owner Ken Booth (current owner of C F Booth) has never weighed it in.
The club paid the Booths £200,000 per annum in rent, and were responsible for the grounds maintenance and up keep. The club started a ground upgrade programme, (the "new" main stand remains half-finished) but came into dispute with the Booth's over the lease period and additional fees, which included: 30 free tickets to every home match, with entertainment; advertising in the ground; and first call on away tickets and FA Cup final tickets. In May 2008, Rotherham United left Millmoor after talks with Ken Booth broke down. The team moved to the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield until 2012, when the club moved into a new community stadium in Rotherham. Millmoor is currently unused apart from its car park which has been used by C F Booth as an overspill and storage area for former tube trains awaiting scrapping. (I'm not joking about that last bit).

Well done all those that answered correctly, or gave us a chuckle with your wild guesses.

Of course it was Windy Miller. I was thinking Jonathan Creek for some reason. Blush
