Put the cricket on then went outside to sort my gate out (it had developed a slight lean) and mow the grass before some Russian tanks go hiding in it. Come back in in time to see the 5th wicket go down. I should have left Steve Wright in the afternoon on - there goes the 6th.

I'm perversely glad, because there's been too much dozy optimism from some corners of the sporting media about our batsmen scoring big on a couple of flat tracks. All it takes is a lost toss and half a degree of movement off the pitch, and they're a mess again. The cracks don't need papering over, they need fixing.

How the hell have we reached 200? I turned the Wales game on at 7:43 with England on around 130-9 expecting the Windies to have bowled us out and be about a score or two behind us at stumps. Windies bowlers doing an England bowlers performance on the last pair? Or the last pair showing the rest of the England squad how to grow a pair?

We've just made it to net 2 for 6 - marvellous batting chaps, marvellous.
Make it 7. We'll have to bowl Windies out in 2 overs the way this is going. That or they'll win in two or three overs when they bat.
