RE: Hawthorn, Rose and Fairydean - ritchiebaby - 08-12-2021 In the Scottish Cup replays, Kelty Hearts beat Montrose on penalties, as did Morton against ICT and Cove Rangers thumped QOTS 3-0 away. The replay between Darvel and Brechin City was postponed from Saturday past to Tuesday 14th because of a waterlogged pitch. Revised Scottish Cup fourth round draw Saturday 22 January 2022 Aberdeen v Edinburgh City Alloa Athletic v Celtic Arbroath v Brechin City or Darvel Auchinleck Talbot v Heart of Midlothian Ayr United v St Mirren Banks O'Dee v Raith Rovers Clydebank v Annan Athletic Dumbarton v Dundee Hibernian v Cove Rangers Kelty Hearts v St Johnstone Kilmarnock v Dundee United Livingston v Ross County Motherwell v Greenock Morton Partick Thistle v Airdrieonians Peterhead v East Kilbride Rangers v Stirling Albion RE: Hawthorn, Rose and Fairydean - ritchiebaby - 15-12-2021 It took a long time to get this game to a conclusion, with Darvel and Brechin City drawing 2-2 in normal time. Both sides missed their 2nd penalties, but Darvel eventually won 5-4 on penalties when Ross Thomson scored the winning goal. They now travel to Arbroath in the 4th Round. Let's hope for a calm day as Gayfield, Arbroath's home ground, has a reputation for difficult wind conditions. Almost 3 years ago, their match against Stranraer was called off after 12 minutes due to the conditions. During the 12 minutes, Arbroath conceded a corner when their keeper took a goal-kick which blew back over the line. I'm not sure if it was the same match, but it once took about 5 minutes to take a goal-kick as the ball kept blowing away. RE: Hawthorn, Rose and Fairydean - ritchiebaby - 19-01-2022 The Hibs v Cove Rangers tie has been brought forward to tomorrow (Thursday) night at 7.45pm, as it's live on the BBC Scotland channel (115 on my Sky telly). Hibs have plenty of incentive to do well to impress new manager, Shaun Maloney. Unfortunately, Cove Rangers will have great incentives too, being 8 points clear in League One and looking for a major scalp, Paul Hartley (ex-Hearts) is their manager and with Rory McAllister scoring 16 goals in 28 games, they will be dangerous. Beware. Of absolutely no interest to me, but maybe for someone else, Rangers play Stirling Albion on Friday night at 7.45pm, live on Premier Sports - no chance of the Beeb getting that one. The other ties are being played on Saturday afternoon, with Auchinleck Talbot v Hearts featured at 12.30pm on BBC One Scotland. RE: Hawthorn, Rose and Fairydean - Lord Snooty - 19-01-2022 Sky 194 down here, Ritchiebaby. RE: Hawthorn, Rose and Fairydean - ritchiebaby - 21-01-2022 DIRE!!! Hibs through but all the credit goes to Cove Rangers. RE: Hawthorn, Rose and Fairydean - Lord Snooty - 21-01-2022 Watched bits of it. Wasn't very good, was it. RE: Hawthorn, Rose and Fairydean - ritchiebaby - 23-01-2022 Sorry, Devongone, but the romance of the Scottish Cup is now over with all the non-league sides knocked out. Annan Athletic, 3rd in Scottish League Two, are now the lowest-ranked club. Scottish Cup 4th Round Results Aberdeen 3 v 0 Edinburgh City Alloa Athletic 1 v 2 Celtic Arbroath 3 v 0 Darvel Auchinleck Talbot 0 v 5 Heart of Midlothian Ayr United 0 v 2 St Mirren Banks O'Dee 0 v 3 Raith Rovers Clydebank 3 v 4 Annan Athletic AET Dumbarton 0 v 1 Dundee Hibernian 1 v 0 Cove Rangers AET Kelty Hearts 1 v 0 St Johnstone AET Kilmarnock 1 v 2 Dundee United AET Livingston 1 v 0 Ross County Motherwell 2 v 1 Greenock Morton AET Partick Thistle 1 v 0 Airdrieonians Peterhead 2 v 2 East Kilbride AET (Peterhead win 5-3 on penalties) Rangers 4 v 0 Stirling Albion Scottish Cup 5th Round Draw for weekend of 12th and 13th February Motherwell v Aberdeen Celtic v Raith Rovers Arbroath v Hibernian Annan Athletic v Rangers Hearts v Livingston Peterhead v Dundee Partick Thistle v Dundee United St Mirren v Kelty Hearts See how easy it is with no replays. Although a few Premiership sides didn't find it easy at all, struggling through after extra time. RE: Hawthorn, Rose and Fairydean - ritchiebaby - 27-01-2022 Arbroath v Hibs is to be televised on Sunday 13 February at 12.30 on BBC One Scotland with Peterhead v Dundee shown on Monday 14 February at 19.45 on BBC Scotland. Unsurprisingly, Premier Sports will be showing Annan Athletic v Rangers on Saturday 12th at 17.30 and Celtic v Raith Rovers at 16.00 on Sunday 13th. RE: Hawthorn, Rose and Fairydean - ritchiebaby - 15-02-2022 Fourth Round Results Motherwell 2 v 1 Aberdeen Celtic 4 v 0 Raith Rovers Arbroath 1 v 3 Hibernian Annan Athletic 0 v 3 Rangers Hearts 0 v 0 Livingston (Hearts win 4-3 on penalties) Peterhead 0 v 3 Dundee Partick Thistle 0 v 1 Dundee United St Mirren 4 v 0 Kelty Hearts This means that all of the 8 teams left in the competition are from the Scottish Premiership. - Quarter-final Draw Hearts v St Mirren Dundee United v Celtic Dundee v Rangers Motherwell v Hibernian The games are due to be held on the weekend of Saturday 12 March. There is potential for any one of three city derbies in the Final, although I'm sure St Mirren and Motherwell will want to have a say in that. I'm fairly certain the Dundee v Glasgow ties will be on Premier Sports, with the Beeb getting the other two, but time will tell. RE: Hawthorn, Rose and Fairydean - ritchiebaby - 28-02-2022 From the BBC website:- "Scottish Cup quarter-finals involving Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian, Motherwell and St Mirren are to be broadcast live on BBC television. Hibs visit Motherwell the following day, with a 12:30 start, and will be showcased on BBC One Scotland. Dundee host Rangers while Dundee United entertain Celtic in the other games. The match at Dens Park will take place on Sunday 13 March, with a 16:00 kick-off, while Celtic travel to Tannadice the following day, with a 19:45 start. Both games are live on Premier Sports." |
