Crewe Alexandra reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 1888 they defeated Derby County and Middlesbrough en route before being knocked out by Preston North End.

Derby County hold the record for the biggest defeat in an FA Cup final when they lost 0-6 to Bury in 1903 at Crystal Palace.

West Ham last won the FA Cup in 1980 when they beat Arsenal 1-0. Trevor Brooking scored the goal.

Trevor Brooking has a stand named after him at Upton Park, as does Bobby Moore. Bobby Moore's last professional game was for Fulham against West Ham in the FA Cup final 1975.

Fulham were skippered in that 1975 final by Alan Mullery. He had previously played in the 1967 final, gaining a winner's medal, against Chelsea.

Alan Mullery used to manage Brighton. Brighton were runners up in 1983 against Manchester United. Brighton took the 1983 final to a replay and Bryan Robson scored twice in the replay.

Manchester United have won the FA Cup eleven times. The first time was in 1909 against Bristol City when they won 1-0 with a goal from Sandy Turnbull.
