Calm down, chaps! Just because the window's been open two weeks it doesn't mean we should have brought new signings in by now. Players will have been looked at and negotiations will be going on behind the scenes, complicated as usual by other clubs also being in for the players TP fancies. TP has also said that JP understands the position Albion are in regarding new players now and not the summer. Let's wait and see and put our trust and faith in TP and JP.
I don't believe Saido Berahino needs to be sold to raise funds, and TP has said he doesn't want to sell him, and I don't believe either that TP doesn't rate Sessegnon - he's one of our best players by a mile.

I’m sorry but we will inevitably end up with some other clubs cast offs! And why, because we’re not the type of club that can go out and buy the form players that everyone else wants. We don’t have the resources, we don’t even have the same resources as most championship clubs that can offer a higher wage!

Let’s face it, at the moment we will take what we’re given! As for Lambert and Ballotelli, Lambert I can see as being a good player for a season or two, and Ballotelli anyone have a spare 90k a week to get him in! <doh>

Well that isn't true. For one we have a higher wage bill than every single Championship club. We can comfortably pay £50k a week for someone deemed quality (Lescott for example). I hoped we would have one or two in by now but as long as we get the quality required I'm happy to hold off the negativity for a while.

Blimey Foxy - cheer up, you could support Villa! Laugh

We were ALWAYS going to be doing any business towards the end of the month and this is even more likely with a new guy in charge.
I don't think there is more than a very small handful of deals so far gone through involving PL clubs so panic not Oh Foxy One Smartass

Another thing......'cast offs from other clubs'? I suppose Bony is a cast off of Swansea's?
TP says we're only going to sign players that are better than the ones we have; if that's the case I don't mind if they come from Barcelona or Wagga Wagga Reserves Blush

RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 14) Update - Foxman_WBA - 15-01-2015

Haha, i'm not down or anything. Just trying to be realistic in that we cant go after the same players as Villa's Swansea's Sunderland's Newcastle's etc and so the form players that clubs wont want to lose firstly will be over priced and secondly will go to one of the aforementioned clubs first as they will offer more in wages and so we will end up with cast offs, unless we can unearth another gem a la Olly, Gmac, Mulumbu but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I mean Lescott was a 'reject' but he can do a job for us.

I'm not saying i'm not happy with how things or done or i'm not saying that i want us to rush signings, we just need to be realistic in that we aren't going to be forking out 10mil on another (debatably spent in the first place) striker and so whoever we sign no matter how cheep, ill keep the faith that they can do a job untill they prove otherwise (i'd say 5/6 games played in).

RE: 2014 Transfer Window: (Jan 14) Update - tidy - 15-01-2015

It's no secret that January is a rubbish time to try and buy decent players.

Look at Sunderland. £14m total for Defoe. Decent sort of player but that's a lot of money plus they have given him a 3yr plus contract. Leicester have gambled £10m on that Croatian guy. I'm not sure if we are in the market at them sort of prices.

What I've seen from Palace and Stoke fans is that we won't do much before deadline day.

West Brom are also among clubs considering a £4m bid for Lokomotiv Moscow's Vedran Corluka.
