RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 26-07-2022 They were in the Netherlands Ritchie. But as i said earlier the dover - calais crossing is a different kettle of fish. As per our treaty with the french we have had reciprocal border controls since the early 2000s. The British government rejected a few months ago a proposal to double the number of passport booths given to the French Police in Dover. This is the first time peak numbers have collided with post brexit rules. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 26-07-2022 (26-07-2022, 21:44)ritchiebaby Wrote: I'm sure I'll get the answer eventually, jim. Were the Dutch Passport Officials who stamped your passport in the UK or The Netherlands? Thanks. That's what these Tory-ERG-Brexit fuckwits are trying to do Ritchie, all part of the fascist Brexit game they've been playing for the past X years and never stopped. There is no evidence that what I've said is true anyway, but by gum the politicians/charlatans in London have a lot to answer for the most outrageous antagonistic/confrontational behaviour I've ever seen and they carry on with impudence and disregard for you, me and other plebs (in their eyes!!) who intrude into their "fantasy world" called Brexit - IT'S A F###### DISGRACE AND YOU KNOW IT AS WELL I AND MANY OTHER LONG-TERM CRITICS ON THIS SB BOARD (AND OTHERS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY!!) KNOW IT TOO!! Many casualties are indeed travellers, but there are many more other categories of casualties who have been similarly badly affected by this failed Brexit fiasco and it will continue ad nauseum!! That's the real tragedy of this political conspiracy and the main issue to get really upset about!!! As Jim previously commented, "They preach down south how they got control of their borders again, but the trade off is you don't travel seamlessly through any border crossing any more and rightly so - Brit passports and travellers are processed"!!!!!!!!!! The arrogant belief that you leave the EU and expect everything to remain the same is jaw-dropping!! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - theo_luddite - 26-07-2022 The Tories were mostly antagonistic (and Farage's mob only made it worse) throughout our membership of the EU, wanting special deals and always trying to throttle back on freedom of movement. Why were we never part of Schengen? Little Englander Tories. Why did we always have to show our passports going into the EU, coming out of the EU and when arriving back in the UK? Little Englander Tories. Little Englander Labour under Blair and Brown didn't rock that boat either. These people never allowed us to let go of the borders that Brexit has apparently allowed us to reclaim. Yet, the problems now are mostly leaving the county, it's far too expensive for business to have all this bollocks for trade coming in from the EU - according to the Minister for laying flat out on the HoP's benches for a snooze, er sorry, Brexit Opportunities. Yes, there are issues (particularly) in airports on arrival too. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 26-07-2022 Yep Theo!! As clear as the light of day and there are many book publications already covering this extensive issue - take your pick eh!! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - ritchiebaby - 27-07-2022 Thanks for your replies, jim and 0762 - jim for providing the information I wanted and 0762 for going off on another rant that didn't address my point. I fully appreciate that life is different now, but when I've been in African and Middle Eastern countries in the past, I've had my passport inspected and stamped without any hassle. Queues at airports and ferry terminals are and have always been a part of life, but as usual if anything happens in the SE of England, it gets blown out of all proportion while the rest of the country gets on with it. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 27-07-2022 It was nothing close to a "another" (???) rant, but your interpretation of it Ritchie. I've changed my stance considerably re this kinda stuff after reflection re previous issues/incidents on this Sb board a long time ago. I don't intend to alter that stance any time soon. Study hundreds of my threads if you want to!! Lets say I've had enough of it and try to strictly stay on the theme of debate. However, everyone to their own opinion and I don't retract what I originally said. That's where we differ. A difference of opinion will always prevail when it comes to this kinda stuff, we're not all the same!! What I was inferring is that it would be no surprise if the "human factor" kicked in and a lotta Euro officials did play "hard ball". A lotta people really need to waken up re the whole situation covering the Brexit fantasy and "get off their high horses", focus on the real mess that is Brexit and the fact there is a huge political and media conspiracy to try to normalise it while the damage to the country and millions and millions of people is massive. Note that is no rant, just highlighting the seriousness of this never ending issue. What I will additionally say is the fact it is so frustrating to observe what is going on politically and it has been shamelessly "rolling on" for years while certain people are debating the "serious prob" of travelling abroad?? Really?? Lets set priorities accordingly eh!! Just study the huge number of threads on this OP alone and discover this frustration is not unique to me either!! I repeat what has been previously said on this board (and others btw!) - I care for the future of my kids and grand kids and I am greatly concerned, as are many people I know who are similarly concerned with the massive deterioration in the moral and societal fabric of this country and the absolute political mess that is linked to this negative phenomenon. THE FUTURE PROSPECTS OF THIS COUNTRY LOOK BLEAK AND THAT IS A FACT!! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - ritchiebaby - 28-07-2022 It is indeed a difference of opinion and you'll note that Boris and his cabal enjoyed using the "human factor" and played "hard ball" in rejecting a call for IndyRef2. I trust you won't be surprised at their right to do so, although we both feel it is an especially ignorant and arrogant attitude to take. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 06-08-2022 https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/british-farmers-face-paying-for-border-checkpoints-in-eu-after-brexit-halts-exports/ar-AA10ntoC?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=dc0da4d7a450405dad49c783b10227ca This is just another one of those Brexit failures to add to the endless list of failures and casualties that Brexit has imposed on this country and made a lotta people much poorer or even worse in the face of the biggest deception/con in Brit political history. This particular example re the NFU is sheer desperation to redress a major exporting problem from an organisation that generally associates itself with the Tory party and stupidly did so together with many within the fishing industry as well. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 07-08-2022 Thats the issue with Brexit. These folks have made their livelihoods unsustainable. Farmers were getting 352,000 from the EU now down to 110/150k. The exact opposite of what farage and eustace said in 2016. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 07-08-2022 There are so many instances of the cons/lies that were uttered/promised and now been "swept under the carpet" in the biggest political conspiracy in the history of Brit politics - an absolute disgrace and the collusion of media/press to generally try and normalise this utter failure (as though nothing significant has happened!!!) is jaw-dropping!! |
