RE: FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter? - Devongone - 01-11-2024 I'm looking forward to watching you take on Tamworth. My only worry (and it should be yours too) is the pitch. This probably marks me as a dinosaur but you rarely get a decent game to watch on 3G. And some practice on it is no bad thing. Counter-intuitively artifical surfaces don't always favour the home side as much as you'd imagine. If you'd ever sunk as low as the National League you would know that a rubbish ref' is just part of the data. The ref being rubbish cuts both ways. It is just an honest man teetering on the edge of panic trying to be both right and fair and not making a very good job of it. Honesty is all any of us can demand. When the ref gives a penno and the whole ground knows it was nothing like a foul, sport is about learning to swallow it down, stopping whining and equalising at the other end. Refs are rubbish, because it is a difficult job carried out in public in front of thousands of critics, by a very fallible human being. Is it bravery, self-regard, or masochism? RE: FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter? - Lord Snooty - 01-11-2024 And Worcester City away in 2005. Another BBC game and another ref making himself the centre of attention. Sending Danny Schofield off for a dive when it was a clear and obvious penalty. We need to kill this game off early tonight before the ref makes it all about him. RE: FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter? - theo_luddite - 01-11-2024 Tamworth seem to be struggling with the concept of announcing a squad - maybe they are all still in the queue for Spudman. Not announced on Twatter or the BBC website yet. We have 5 changes in Staffordshire tonight, with Chris Maxwell, Ollie Turton, Jaheim Headley, Tom Iorpenda and Bojan Radulovic stepping into the side While they resharpen the quill or fill the ink-pot, their subs bench looks a bit youthful RE: FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter? - themaclad - 01-11-2024 Artificial pitch poop RE: FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter? - theo_luddite - 01-11-2024 Finally RE: FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter? - themaclad - 01-11-2024 Tamworth taking the John Beck approach 35 minutes of dross so far RE: FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter? - theo_luddite - 01-11-2024 FFS Maxwell leave it alone and it doesn't count RE: FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter? - themaclad - 01-11-2024 Wonder why we gave Maxi a free RE: FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter? - theo_luddite - 01-11-2024 Not really RE: FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter? - Lord Snooty - 01-11-2024 Well that was poor. Need to be much quicker. And stop giving them throw ins |
