RE: Crunch Time - theo_luddite - 20-04-2024 I've seen some bloody awful Town sides over the years, as have most of us on here, but one that falls apart in 15 minutes as often as this one does takes some beating. RE: Crunch Time - Lord Snooty - 20-04-2024 Yet again, Andre Preview got the line up wrong. Explained afterwards by saying that he sees the players in training and knows who's ready for it. Glennon rubbished this on the radio. Rightly so. If a player doesn't commit fully in training, but he's the best player for his position, then he should play. George Best would never have played at all if Matt Busby thought that way. So, apart from not starting with a recognised striker, he also starts with centre back Pearson at right back. And right back Spencer at left back. Both of them struggled. Swansea were coasting. They're not a very good side, but they play the Swansea way, keeping the ball and boring everybody to death. At least they have an identity though. What do we have? The game changed on the hour when we made our subs. Two proper strikers came on and all of a sudden we're getting on top. However. Our strikers aren't good enough, which I can't blame Breitenreiter for. So Swansea bring on two proper Championship strikers in Lowe and Yates. Within no time at all, Lowe turns Pearson inside out and scores. I love the Keighley Cannavaro, but he was having a stinker. He should have gone off with Spencer going to right back. But no. He'd brought Headley on and taken Spencer off. From then on, we just went to pieces. Sorba kept running and creating chances, without any success. But at least we were getting men forward now. And so, with that goal in their pocket, the Swans just picked us off. Three more times. So what do they actually do in these training sessions? They're not fit. They can't pass straight. They can't shoot. They have no cohesion. No tactics. No identity. We have dozens of coaches. I was watching them in the warm up. Six of them stood around doing nowt, while another one barks at them as they're doing aerobic excersizes. I despair! Unbelievably, we still have a chance of staying up. A very slim chance, but realistically, we are down. And League One will be a massive struggle. RE: Crunch Time - WakeyTerrier - 20-04-2024 Sack the bloody lot of them(except Sorba). Shambolic shit show from top to bottom and has been for the past 2 years. Not sure I’ll bother next weekend, I’ve a Wakefield Trinity season ticket and they’re at home to Toulouse next week at 6pm. That has to be a better option than watching Brum relegate us….again RE: Crunch Time - Lord Snooty - 20-04-2024 We seem to have forgotten to call out the refereeing incompetence. Hand ball and a red card for the keeper? Was it 0-1 at that stage? Can't remember. RE: Crunch Time - jjamez - 21-04-2024 Believe it may have been 0-0. Did you notice on the second or third goal how quickly said goalkeeper sent the ball long, sure we took a decade to get back but still. I wonder if Andre was offered the job again with immediate start or summer start, which would he choose? And how many of this lot would feature in his squad if he was building it, let's not forget he hasn't had a window. We just wasted two of them, that ain't on him. I won't be there next weekend, I'm done, I'm not fussed whether Andre stays or goes, I like his CV and think of he had his own players we'd be a far better side. What I am fussed about is the two clowns that are making the decisions for nagle, they need to go, even Nigel clibbens didn't cock up this much. How many of those players will be utterly sick at the performance today, and how many will be eating a nice meal, nice drinks, not giving a shit? I reckon most of them. I know they say don't take work home and everything, but if that was me, I'd be replaying it all over and over again, I do it for cricket after each game, it is all ifs, buts and hindsight, but it's just how I am. These frauds just want a paycheck. Burgzorg, I was at the end with him the other week and now I'm well and truly there, he should never put a town shirt on again, banish him back to Germany, pick a striker and give his squad spot to Jones or a.n.other young kid coming through. 4 full backs on the bench, nah, no need. I'll go from 1-bench Nicholls- I don't think he could do much on the goals I saw, his distribution has always been slow and ponderous, passing short to the defenders ain't going to work. Pearson- carthorse. League one, he will be a good limited defender that does the basics, but I don't want him playing out from the back. Helik- like Pearson, don't play out from the back. He will win the ball etc but can't pass. He won't be here anyway Lees- as above. Not one of our CBS can pass water, let alone a ball. I think league one is his level, but his legs have gone. Spencer- people said he struggled, wasn't his best game, Ronald looked sharp, but he wasn't bad. Matos/kasumu- they can't play together. Both do the exact same thing. Run and run a bit more. Our recruitment team must have looked heavily on the running stats rather than looking at what they did on the ball. Look at mooy, he didn't run a lot, because he didn't need to. Thomas- some good crosses, some terrible. Everything we do seems to have to go through him, and that makes us very predictable. He'll want out Rudoni - it's bad when he's viewed as being our most creative midfielder. Today he shot when he should have passed. Can see him wanting out Koroma- poor, not a championship player. Might be okay for us in league one, not gonna be many suitors for him. We already knew he had a pea sized heart. Today he left his shooting boots at home. Burgzorg - xxxx off Maxwell- probs be a solid numero Uno in league one for us Turton- waste of a spot on the bench. Won't be anywhere near fit enough Edwards- waste of a signing Jackson- not progressed, a league one season might help. Less subs allowed on the bench next year, so his versitility will be useful Headley- not a left back. Maybe do a Warnock and try him on the wing? Ward- unlucky with the one that hit the post, but he can go and I'd keep Rhodes. He's scored 16 in half a season. Ward won't manage 16 games. Healey- imagine he's a nasty player to come up against, a good preseason and he will be a useful player for us. Bojan- few glimpses when he's played on occasion but ots hard to say yet, league one is going to be even more physical with poorer officials so I can see him struggling more. Clear out needed. Big time RE: Crunch Time - jjamez - 21-04-2024 Our squad now, and what I'd do with them, who I can remember anyway. Nicholls- maybe a team comes in for anf we get 2-3 mil. Otherwise he stays as number one Maxwell- be good as number one if nicholls goes Chapman/bellagambi- keep one, let the other go. Turton- no one will come in for him might be a good player to have around Pearson- keep in league one but don't ley him pass. Might be captain option Helik- will go to someone like Burnley and we might get a few million for him Lees- legs have gone in my opinion Balker- will he want league one? If he left I think we'd recoup something at least Aynia- will his loan have had the same effect as Spencer's? Spencer- can imagine teams interested in him, but should be a pretty penny required Headley, keep and move him further up and use his pace Yuta- out of contract let him go Ruffles- should never have been resigned. We had a year option but didn't take it. Only interested when he joined Warnock juniors agency Hogg- past it, probably time to let him go, unless he takes a decent wage cut Rudoni- probably get some interest in him, might be better off keeping him of there's no pressure to sell. Kasumu- league one is probably his level, but he needs to kick on or we need better High- can go Austerfield- there was high hopes, but I don't know how he's been whilst out on loan Wiles- has been crap this season but has had good seasons in league one before Thomas- will be one of the major ones to leave Jones- gonna see a lot more game time if he stays fit. Koroma- might have to rely on him to have more impact in a lower league Hudlin- get rid Simpson- probably say let him go. Harratt- get rid Ward- sick note can leave for me Rhodes- out of contact but has shown he can score in that league... Healey- should score a few Bojan- think he'll struggle Rowe- let him go Diarra- let him go Jackson - wouldn't be against him going but his ability to play multiple roles, however ineffective might be useful. Other youngsters like iorpenda, if in contract keep, blood them if good enough. Loan out if not. To me we need 10+ players if we stayed up. Probably need about the same when we go down RE: Crunch Time - WakeyTerrier - 21-04-2024 Crunch time might become breaking point when they release next seasons season ticket prices if what I was told yesterday turns out to be true. Where I sit Championship (we can only dream) £430 League 1 £400. Don’t take that as definite, just a little rumour I was told. If it’s true then the uptake will be poor RE: Crunch Time - Lord Snooty - 21-04-2024 Eight hundred quid for the pair of us then. Plus £150 for the car park. To watch League One. RE: Crunch Time - Lord Snooty - 21-04-2024 Can I just say. Can't blame the defence for that yesterday. Four-nil sound's like they've had a shocker, but the strikers do their bit and we're three-nil up before Lowe scores the first one. The other three all came from us pushing up trying to get back into a game we should've been well ahead in. Same as last week at Bristol. Got to bury your chances. Zero shots on target yesterday. RE: Crunch Time - Lord Snooty - 21-04-2024 Wendy win at Blackburn. We are down. |
