RE: New Mellons - themaclad - 03-09-2022 Tranmere Rovers have signed Liverpool forward Paul Glatzel and Southampton defender Dynel Simeu on season-long loan deals. Glatzel, 21, spent time at Prenton Park last season, making 21 appearances and scoring six goals before his season was cut short by injury. Simeu, 20, joined Saints from Chelsea last summer and had a loan spell in League Two with Carlisle last season. Both players could make feature against leaders Leyton Orient on Saturday. RE: New Mellons - themaclad - 12-01-2023 Tranmere have completed the signing of Port Vale midfielder Brad Walker on a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The 26-year-old has experience of League One football after making 50 appearances for Shrewsbury in the two Covid-affected seasons. "We've been looking for players of Brad's size and physicality in midfield areas," said Rovers boss Micky Mellon. "He also knows what it takes to work your way out of this division." Walker has also played at Hartlepool, where he began his career at the age of 13, and Crewe, where he had spells in central defence. RE: New Mellons - themaclad - 17-01-2023 Tranmere Rovers have signed Dundee United winger Logan Chalmers on loan for the remainder of the season. The 22-year-old spent the first part of the season on loan to Scottish Championship side Ayr United where he scored two goals in 12 games. Chalmers has scored 10 goals in 73 matches in his career so far, including three in 40 for the Scottish Premiership Tangerines. "He's a really talented lad," boss Micky Mellon told the club website. "[He] plays in the wide areas which we have been crying out for to help the squad and give us options out wide." The Dundee-born forward has also spent time at Inverness Caledonian Thistle last season, and a short stint at Arbroath earlier in his career. Chalmers arrives at Tranmere with the club 15th in League Two. RE: New Mellons - themaclad - 28-01-2023 Tranmere have signed Bristol Rovers striker Harvey Saunders for an undisclosed fee. Saunders, 25, scored five goals in 43 appearances for Joey Barton's side and was part of the team that won promotion to League One last season. The former Fleetwood forward has signed an 18-month deal. "We tried to secure Harvey from Bristol Rovers in the summer, so I am delighted to have got this across the line now," said Tranmere manager Micky Mellon. Rovers manager Barton said Saunders wanted more game time. "He has done brilliantly, but he is desperate to get on and get playing regularly," he told the Bristol Rovers website. "It allows us to recoup some money that we can invest, hopefully, back in the side." RE: New Mellons - themaclad - 31-01-2023 Tranmere Rovers have signed Forest Green midfielder Regan Hendry on loan until the end of the season. The 25-year-old Scot joined the New Lawn side from Raith Rovers in June 2021 and helped them win promotion to League One last season. He could make his Tranmere debut at Stockport on Saturday. "We know Regan from his time with Forest Green, where he was an integral part of their title-winning side," boss Micky Mellon told the club website. Hendry, 25, joined Forest Green from Raith Rovers in 2021 and won promotion to League One last season. Turner-Cooke, 19, made three EFL Trophy appearances for Newcastle. "We know Regan from his time with Forest Green, where he was an integral part of their title-winning side," boss Micky Mellon told the club website. He added: "We know how highly rated Jay is and we know the threat that he can add in the attacking areas of the pitch so we can't wait to start working with him and integrating him into the group." RE: New Boys - themaclad - 24-03-2023 Managerless Tranmere Rovers have signed free-agent midfielder Florent Hoti on a short-term contract. The 22-year-old Kosovan has been on trial at Prenton Park after leaving Scottish club Arbroath, where he made seven appearances this season. Previously, he played two EFL Trophy games for Rochdale in 2018-19 before moving to Dundee United and Forfar. "It's no secret that we've got an extensive injury list at the moment," said Rovers caretaker boss Ian Dawes. "Bringing Flo in will help us with that situation as well as him adding his qualities into the team." Tranmere sacked manager Micky Mellon on Sunday with the team 14th in League Two and 11 points adrift of the play-off places. They are away to Colchester United on Saturday. |
