I don't for 1 minute think you're a happy clappers SCO as you say you try to be optimistic but you know we are shit !)

RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - St Charles Owl - 14-05-2023

Well maybe so but I am definitely a happy clapper compared to you lot!!!

And my optimistic side has just closed your summer transfer thread until after Thursday, lets know for sure what division we are in before having a debate on transfers!!

Owlstalk is intolerable to me (I'm sure they feel the same about us here lol) it's just one huge echo chamber of delusional happy clapping and whenever someone goes against the grain they get mobbed. So I never bothered making an account there.
We'd never be able to discuss the holy messiah 'Darren' in the manner we do here. It'd be a burning at the stake for blasphemy, he did get us 96pts after all Doh
Bedsides, I love a good whine and I can do plenty of it here without getting banned.. almost Big Grin

It's disappointing to see there's still a large (Too large for me) section of fans supporting DM and saying "If only Chansiri back's him in the market we'll go up next year"
It drives me spare, how on earth can anyone want to subject themselves to watching another season of Darrenball?
It's horrible to watch and more negative than I could ever be!! That's saying something.

If the vocal minority start validating Chansiri to keep the buffoon employed then we really are in the crap.
Skinflint chairman is already looking to gouge fans £700 for Darrenball in Division 3.
More than some Prem clubs and many Championship clubs, how the fk is that justifiable??

His poor running of the Club, cooking of the books and fiscal irresponsibility helped us come full circle. How on earth he thinks gouging the working class during a recession to pay for HIS mistakes is beyond me. I understand the Club needs investment from sources external to himself but that is not the way. This isn't corporate real estate.
He continues to show that he isn't actually part of the community and doesn't have a clue how to run a football club. He is the reason we're stagnant today. He lets his son play Football Manager. The direct talks with the fans stopped when he took the hump with us.

I can go on and on about the absolute ineptitude of the Chairman and this is why we need him to go if this Club is to move forward.
Structure, ambition and the correct personnel to execute the Club's goals.
This is what we need and it's so agonisingly blatant it should be embarrassing.

So.. we need pressure in this Chairman. Not effing support him or this nightmare is simply never going to end for us. Each step forward is followed by two steps back.
The pigs are loaded and in the Premier League yet again.. Even Rotherham are up and stayed up in the Championship

We are rotting away with absolutely no leadership or ambition and it kills me how 'fans' have become so complacent with this sub standard existence of our once great football club.
We're now in need of a rebuild and restructure to move forward.
Patching it up and throwing some perfume on the odor isn't going to solve this problem.

Agree with most of this, I know I am the resident "Happy Clapper" Imre and others refers to all the time but someone has to offer an alternative view and keep you lot in check!!  I am pragmatic in my life, I am an optimist in most things and I like to think I am a realist as regards what I want.

So the pragmatic me will say again and again, we are stuck with Chansiri, he has put over £200m into the club and had we shown up at Wembley in 2016 he would have been hailed a hero.  No one is going to buy us as he will ask too much for us unless he is prepared to walk away from the thick end of £150m.  So that invariably is a pointless debate.  I do think he loves the club and cares about how we are doing and on that basis rather than trying to oust him he should be encouraged to appoint a Director of Football to run the football side of the business and let him run the commercial aspects.  He should have kept Howard Wilkinson on when he took over.

My optimistic me says if we score early on Thursday and maybe get to 2-0 then we will have a chance.  We have scored 3 or more goals 12 times this season, have only lost once at home and at times threatened to hammer teams.  This time if we can get an early lead and keep the foot on the gas you never know.

The realist in me though accepts that I assume Moore's remit this season wasn't 96 points, it wasn't 19 clean sheets or a 23 game unbeaten run, I am fairly sure it was promotion.  It also wasn't top 2, it was simply promotion and that is still available to us however unlikely that is as we stand today.  Once the season is over then Chansiri has some decisions to make.  Moore might not be the best tactically but for the first time since Carlos was around the club developed a sense of togetherness that we haven't seen for a while. Players seemed to want to sign and play for him and he is well respected by the football community.  The danger of switching is getting Jos or Gary or god forbid Tony Pulis type back in and we lose what momentum we have built.  We have 14 players out of contract or with expiring loans, let them go whoever the manager is and let the squad be built again but you don't dismantle a side that got 96 points however spawny you think that is.

Stateside, if this is where you get things off your chest and keep yourself sane then have at it, although I would argue walking outside your front door and screaming into the Scottish Highlands would work as well!!  I have never banned anybody and I will never do that for expressing an opinion but I absolutely will not stopping being a pragmatic, optimistic and realistic twat!!  Besides, it pisses off our resident grouch Imre and even I need some entertainment at times!!!

I agree wholeheartedly with SCO, so I'm another happy clapper if you want to label me as such. Changing managers frequently hasn't worked out well for us. There has been substantial improvement in the team's performance as SCO says. It sounds like a cliche but we have to build on that, not start over with a new bloke (who?) at the helm. Besides, imre thinks he should go, which means I don't Laugh

RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - Statesideowl - 14-05-2023

I didn't actually have you in mind that time, SCO lol
Like Imre I think you're just aggravatingly (Deliberately) positive in the face of certain Doom; a bit like one of those Hollywood heroes you live near Big Grin
The happy clappers are allover Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
We've an age group now that's 25-30yrs old and they've never seen us play in the top tier against top teams. That's heartbreaking for a 'founder' Club and those fans.
All they know is the mediocrity of bouncing between Division 2 and Division 3
That same section of fans has become complacent with it in my eyes.
They just think "oh well next time" and I think " No fk that, unacceptable not ambitious enough"

As you say, Moore's sole purpose was promotion same as last season where he collapsed at the final hurdles. The broken records were nice little bonuses, like side quests alongside the main mission; except that he failed the main mission.

Let's say you're correct about Chairman, we back him and he backs Moore again..
I don't think most fans can get through another season of his football and methodologies.
As far as players go. I really like the look of Nemane at Notts County and would be enquiring.
As Kev said though, Moore doesn't use Wingers.
I'd have to look exactly who is OOC for us.
We're in such a state now that its either backing the buffoon or hoping another manager can come in and hit the ground running, which is what I think is the best course of action.
They can decide who to keep and may also have the ability to not pick old bottlers. Need some hungry youngsters to win these 4-3 game's

100% agree about a Director of Football. I've said this a few times. If only we had one for Carlos and not that Paixao prick lining his pockets by selling us duds from his own agency.. Another example of the Chairman not doing due diligence on people and trusting them to run his club.

Don't worry, PEI. el Hefe and I will make sure SCO and yourself aren't a majority lol

I sometimes vent outside in these beautiful hills, plenty of sheep and lambs to shout at!
I need to get that energy out and sometimes it manifests itself in a long winded whine about Darrenball lol
I do appreciate that those of you left put up with it Laugh

RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - Imre varadi - 14-05-2023

Ffs you annoying bastard !!! I don't think you're a happy clapper either ...you just talk utter shite and always get it wrong then you disappear ..I think you're an annoying wanker !!!
I actually think it's all too late to sack Moore now as he's possibly the only one who can get cheap average players without a diva attitude.this all down to chansiris transfer policy again !!!! .but will he fail yes !!! And if he does get the sack it surely can't get any worse I'd rather go to the next playoffs with half a chance not again with Moore because that's where it's heading again if we keep him !!

Arsenal have been handed there arses on a plate with a big bottle by Brighton the up and coming club.. who are now genuinely bigger than us ffs

City now need 2pts from 3 games ...as much chance as us getting to Wembley as them blowing the title now !!

Boro drew with Coventry ..looking like a kiddie fiddlers final coming up !!!

Not sure what you mean Owlskev? Are we predicting 90 minutes or will a win include after extra time or penalties?

For example can I have Barnsley H win and it goes in after 90 minutes ? You've totally confused the f@ck out off me !!

I don't get it.

Wednesday could be an absolute goldmine of a club, big support and stadium. Wealthy foreign owner. The riches of the EPL should be within reach, which presumably why he's there in the first place.

So why the xxxx is he leaving you in the hands of Darren Moore ?

RE: The Posh v The Owls PO SF 1st Leg - Imre varadi - 14-05-2023

He does as he's told hibbiejibbi !!! He needs somebody with no knowledge of football ...we've had managers and he wasn't best pleased with being told the truth .

5-0 Windass positive!!!
