RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Thurnscoe_OWL - 16-01-2015 Stuart Gray has hailed the spirit and leadership qualities of the squad. The head coach says he has leaders all over the field, each with their own style and that is contributing to Wednesday’s recent climb up the Championship. Now four points off the play-offs, the Owls are looking to edge closer this weekend and Gray believes the players have what it takes to keep the run going. “We’ve got a good dressing room and we’ve got a good captain. But at the end of the day, everybody has got to be a captain in different ways," he said. “Glenn Loovens has got fantastic leadership qualities, as has Keiren Westwood. Tom Lees can be quiet during the week but come Saturday, he’s a leader. “I feel in the little triangle we have in Glenn, Tom and Keiren, you’ve got voices, you’ve got experience and people that read the game well. “I think I can count on one hand the number of mistakes they have made all season. “Some players lead with their performances, some are vocal but the pleasing thing for me is that I have never had to worry about my dressing room. “The spirit has been first class all season.” And it’s that spirit that Gray says helped Wednesday to dust themselves down following defeat to Fulham before Christmas to win three consecutive Championship games. He added: “It was a blip for us to concede from two set pieces at Fulham. “But to go on the run we have, the players deserve so much credit. Now they must keep looking upwards. "They’ve all set the standard very, very high.” RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Towinjustonce - 16-01-2015 Doesn't look like we will have anyone new in for tomorrow's game. Is there even a rumour of anyone ?? Surely Stoke, Palace and definitely Qpr must have a striker, winger looking for football. Qpr must be over loaded with players. Would prefer a Gayle / Murray / Maynard experienced striker to help out May and Nuhiu in this league. Don't think any of them will be here as Murray/Gayle might end up staying at Palace and cardiff won't let Maynard come to a rival for a top 6 spot. So we go with what we have for the minute !! RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - St Charles Owl - 16-01-2015 There are no firm stories around about us at all!!! But then we never really expected much especially with the potential takeover as well!! Just reading the Mail at the inlaws and Ravel Morrison is desperate for a club. Wages lowish might break our structure 15k however he says he's taking full responsibility for himself and wants no compensation if the club release him. Worth a shout? RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - A57owl - 17-01-2015 Hi Danowl365 Morrison has lots of potential but has never really proved himself. Not sure I would want him as he could mess up our squad morale and team spirit. He is one of those players who needs to buckle down and prove his early talent. He was put in the spotlight too early and quickly and not watched over. At least he would be away from the jaws of the press as no-one ever writes about SWFC!! Nice of you to join us mate Jump straight in and tell imre he's a prick, you'll be one of us then . Also, you'll probably be aware of the great censorship of 2014 when the f and c words were banned. Well you can still say fucks for some reason LIFE HACKS BROUGHT TO YOU BY THURNSCOE_OWL Anyway, back on track, I actually suggested Morrison a couple of weeks ago. SG put his arms around the players and seems to be getting the best out of them. If there's one player who needs a SG type of manager to get his career back on track it's Ravel Morrison (he also happens to be the sort of player we've been screaming out for for the last 5/6/7/8 years ) RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Owlkev71 - 17-01-2015 Morrison has talent but never seems too far from some sort of trouble. |
