Tottenham are keen to make one final bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, 22, before the transfer window closes on Monday.(Sunday Mirror)

But Newcastle are preparing to make a club record £34m bid for Berahino.(Sunday Times - subscription only)

The Baggies are hoping to sign 24-year-old QPR winger Mat Phillips, who is a long-time target, in an £8m deal. (Daily Star on Sunday)

MLS side DC United are considering a move for former Manchester City, Celtic and West Brom striker Georgios Samaras, 30. The Greece international is a free agent. (Washington Post)

RE: Jan 30th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - Salopbaggie - 31-01-2016

Sunday Express journalist John Richardsonon in a T.V. interview claims Newcastle are planning to offer upwards of £20 million for Saido. What a dilemma for him if they do and Spurs do not come in with a "suitable" offer given that we are 1/5 on to finish higher than Newcastle.

I read somewhere that JP said he wouldn't sell to Newcastle or any of our 'rivals'. Mind you, you can read most things, somewhere.

Wouldn't make a difference if it was upwards of £50m. I wouldn't trust the club to do my groceries!

RE: Jan 30th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - Bournemouth Baggie - 31-01-2016

Jordan Rhodes move to Boro' off due to disagreement over win bonuses. With or without Saido this guy is worth a punt surely?

Tend to agree for once with Stevo.......

Newcastle have just signed Doumbia from Roma on loan , why are we not using our foreign loans to top us up,

You know it makes sense Simone. Grabry has gone back to Arsenal, enough said about that better but let's hope our new loanee get's more game time (assuming he cuts it)

Sky sports saying Newcastle bid 21m for Saido, apparently we've bid 8m for Matt Philipps. I'd still keep Saido.

RE: Jan 30th: WBA January 2016 Transfer Window - Stairs - 31-01-2016

I'd take £21m but only if we can get Phillips plus a new striker!
