RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 12-06-2019 The UK is going to be wearing a gimp suit, locked in an old chest freezer in the EU's basement. They'll bring it out for torture sessions once a year as a warning to others. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 15-06-2019 'use the time wisely' said tusk. As the tories elect BJ and prepare for a no deal Brexit. As an Italian political commentator said "In Italy the politicians own the newspapers; in Britain it's the other way round." RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 18-06-2019 "majority of Conservative party members care more about delivering Brexit than they do about keeping either Scotland or Northern Ireland in the UK" Make no mistake we are closing in on a xxxx hard brexit, the tory party have it as the key factor to electing their next leader. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 18-06-2019 It is a Tory party issue (always has been!), not a national one, and just listen to a common theme of most of the candidates who wanna deliver brexit because that is the "will of the people" - correction: the will of the 160k Tory party members, a membership that is dominated by rich "oldies"/lpensioners! who bizarrely crave for brexit! Also I can't believe the Labour Party is still not swinging towards the "remain movement" and finally "choosing a side" and be done with it instead of "sitting on the fence"!! My conclusion is an extreme one and that is that the Labour Party needs to ditch Corbyn asap - not up to this major crisis/challenge, a dithering fool! If a hard Brexit does go through then the Labour Party and particularly Corbyn will be as much to blame as the Tories!! Corbyn is worrying more about his own job and his reputation with his back benchers than doing his job and providing an effective opposition to the Tories!! It's all about a cover for British exceptionalism and English nationalism that even English nationalists doesn't want any more. A higher percentage of tories want to keep NI over Scotland ffs Get these gammon xxxx to absolute xxxx. As for corbyn there is an argument that we would already be facing hard brexit without him and labour, but the problem is that he is totally paralysed now. I appreciate the problem he has with the labour leave seats and seeking a compromise was probably the right thing to attempt but now sitting on the fence isn't going to please anyone, he is now going to bleed support to the lib dems trying to please people who probably wont vote labour anyway. I've got no doubt corbyns core values are decent, but he isn't politically good enough for these times. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 19-06-2019 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-48694223 This bbc report presents a good summary of Corbyn's intractable position within his own divided party. The "bottom line" to note is he has a predominantly "remain" membership and the country has "swung" to a superior remain position together with all three devolved countries within the UK in a "remain stance" that favours the status quo!!! HE MUST CHOOSE A SIDE AND STOP "SITTING ON THE FENCE"!!! Or resign and give way to a far more forceful Labour leader with some kinda "backbone"!! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 20-06-2019 Irish PM says there is ‘enormous hostility’ to further extension among member states. Basically the EU leaders saying today they are resigned to a "no deal" brexit. I think he has handled it badly but in no way will he "be as much to blame as the tories". This is a tory project from start to finish, labour do not have the arithmetic in parliament to force a new vote or a change of direction (and the record shows he has tried on numerous occasions), and have their own divisions to consider. There is a reason we haven't left yet, and that's down to labour,SNP,lib dems and a handful of tory "rebels". They have saved the nation from meltdown. Corbyn's run out of road now though and with bojo heading for no deal he has to put aside his euroscepticism and get behind a remain position or his party are going to be totally fucked. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 21-06-2019 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-48720176 That's another scumbag "chancer" (and there are lotsa them out there esp in the British govt!), a Tory MP, removed by the actions of his local electorate and a by-election called! Now that is what I call "democracy" in action, unlike the current Tory charade for a new leader/PM!! Well done, root them out!! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 05-07-2019 Did anyone watch that crazy speech by newly elected MEP, Ann Widdecombe, at the EU inauguration ceremony in Strasbourg?? What a f###### embarrassment!!! A stupid reference to oppression and slaves turning against the oppressor!!!????:I was listening to another Brexit "oldie" trying to misrepresent the British population and displaying the usual angst, anger and hate that most of her like-minded protagonists seem to be infected with!! And she is on a salary of about £3500 a week!! I don't think any slave earned such a generous salary eh! This woman is a loon ball, pure n simple, who should be locked up in a quiet room to "chill out"!!! How embarrassing these people actually are!! |
