RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - theo_luddite - 06-07-2016 Kind of sums up where we are, give or take some loose change https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/picture/2016/jul/05/steve-bell-on-economic-reaction-to-brexit-vote-cartoon?utm_source=esp&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=GU+Today+main+NEW+H+categories&utm_term=180494&subid=11439157&CMP=EMCNEWEML6619I2 That's our chap in Number 11 on the floor for those not familiar with Mr. Bell's sense of humour. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 06-07-2016 (06-07-2016, 04:06)spireitematt Wrote: A UK citizen who lives in Belgium and works as a civil servant for the European Commission has wrote a letter to every MP in Parliament asking them to ignore the referendum result and vote it down. The now retired Tam Dalyell recently uttered the same remark. In effect, a 'leader with balls' should be effectively dismissing this plebiscite of a vote and get on with proper governance for the good of our country!! The only prob is there are no 'leaders with balls' or any kinda backbone whatsoever!! Point me towards a MP that you'd classify as a political heavyweight!! There is nobody around who satisfies the strong attributes required of such an individual and that's a fact! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - Fredstersafool - 07-07-2016 The nation voted it voted exit end of story RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 07-07-2016 My nation, Scotland, voted to remain!! It was a commonsensical vote and a 'no brainer' and it's very clear how different the cultural and political values have become on both sides of Hadrian's Wall!! Also is anybody else watching this farce of a Tory selection process to choose a UK PM? WTF is that all about with these remaining Tory non-entities who believe they have the credentials to run the country in it's current state? What a joke! Lets have a snap UK election and see if the country wanted this Tory 'carve up' as willingly as many of them seem to believe it should be this way!! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 08-07-2016 Brexit will be kicked into the long grass for the foreseeable future and possibly tied to the next general election....unless leadsome wins, she will sign off on article 50 straight away. She really is that mental. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - 0762 - 08-07-2016 Look at the remaining two Tory PM candidates from a Brexit point of view. One of them failed to meet the immigration restrictions that had been set to reduce the numbers entering the country!! The other female candidate was previously the manageress of a hedge fund - a significant element of that famous UK financial crash that brought in the austerity measures!! She also professed at the last Tory conference that remaining in the EU was the right way to go! About a year later, when the political opportunity arose, she suddenly pinned her colours to theleave.mast! IMO this is the most humiliating and embarrassing period in British political history when the main Brexit protagonists have 'jumped ship', there was no 'exit strategy' and the majority of the young folk in this country (who wanted to stay!) have been totally let down and disenfranchised from UK politics! RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - Fredstersafool - 08-07-2016 Makes no fuqing odds what we voted 0762 and in the Tory leadership May said yesterday that she is the person to lead the UK through process of exiting so much for not going through, but then this is politics there all lying b'sards RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 08-07-2016 (08-07-2016, 00:59)0762 Wrote: Look at the remaining two Tory PM candidates from a Brexit point of view. A tory bastard is a tory bastard. Business minister Sajid Javid opens preliminary trade talks with India.....next up china no doubt. 2-3 billion low paid Asians who can do everything the UK can do for 10% of the price!!!! The EU wisely has trade barriers with these nations. The country will be so fucked by the time we are out the EU we will sign anything. RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - Fredstersafool - 08-07-2016 There's no Tory like a lavatory. The country is fucked anyway Jim,tell me what is better from our time in the EU?? RE: European Union Referendum - In or Out?? - hibeejim21 - 08-07-2016 If it wasn't for the EU laws, the tories would probably have had our kids up chimneys years ago. This country is fucked because of the tories not the EU. Tell me how things are going to get less fucked ? Because the tories are off the leash now. |
