So we get Slovakia in the last 16 followed by either Switzerland or Italy. The draw has opened up for this team if they can just find some cohesion and form.

The luck of the draw is unbelievable. The other major nations have to do the hard work.
Gareth will not only blow a great opportunity he'll make it look difficult. Then hell no doubt blame the press & fans for being negative towards the team and himself.
Nothing is more negative than his tactics and selections. All the right players are there at his disposal, he's just incapable of understanding the game in multiple dimensions.

Not really luck, certainly not on our behalf. England did what they needed to do and that was win the group, we were always going to be playing a 3rd place team. So its down to the failings of other teams that they all ended up in the other half of the draw, particularly Belgium and France who both should have won their groups if they wanted easier paths.

You might be right, you could even call the failings of other nations' luck in our favour.
Either way I don't see Sunday being anything other than a painful grind.

Again, mentally playing for the bore draw grind already.
The idea is to win, the focus should be that tearing the opposition up is the only acceptable outcome.
