True but this is a fella who is not getting a game for Bournemouth. After tonight I really wish we had signed a striker rather than a utility defender. We are clearly creating chances but we don't have a natural goal scorer to convert them. It sounds like one point should have been three RE: 2016/17 (Jan 30 Update) WBA January Transfer Window - Stairs - 01-02-2017 Oh well - I hoped for 3-5 signings inc loans and we got 1 plus a loan. As said above, we are 8th and its about evolution but can't help to feel we are a striker short and vulnerable for the rest of the season. RE: 2016/17 (Jan 30 Update) WBA January Transfer Window - betterthanbaird - 01-02-2017 Wilson done on loan. Agree completely Stairs, If Rondon picks up an injury we will struggle. Not sure we have a youngster ready to be back up for Robson-Kanu. Perhaps TP will pick up another freebee!! DD RE: 2016/17 (Jan 30 Update) WBA January Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 01-02-2017 To be fair we did need cover at the back and fits Tp's Criteria down to a Tee (See bold Print) Maybe ok on loan for the rest of the season, Not losing nothing by it are we ? http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/west-brom-marc-wilson-loan-january-transfer-window-3549138.aspx Albion sign Wilson on loan ALBION completed the loan signing of utility defender Marc Wilson from Bournemouth just in time to beat the close of the January transfer window. The 29-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who will wear the number 12 jersey, joined on loan until the end of the season to reunite with Baggies Head Coach Tony Pulis. Wilson, a former Pulis signing and regular pick during his Stoke City tenure, brings Premier League experience in a variety of positions into Albion’s squad. Another graduate of the Manchester United academy, he made his breakthrough at Portsmouth before Pulis signed him for Stoke in August 2010. Wilson went on to play leading roles as Stoke reached the 2011 FA Cup final and then reached the KO phase in the following season’s Europa League campaign. Throughout that period, the 6ft 2in defender he proved himself in all positions across the back-line and in central midfield before moving to Bournemouth last summer. He made his senior Republic of Ireland debut in a 3-0 victory over Wales in 2011 and has gone on to win 25 caps but missed out on the 2016 European Championships finals because of injury. Isn't he going to get a bit hot playing in a jersey? I expect he'd be much more comfortable in a shirt.
