RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (31st Aug) - Beefy 1965 - 01-09-2015 I may as well copy and paste this for the next three transfer windows, Shit Window , still no pace , still no width , still no creativity, Well thats whats been said for the last three, What a joke, Oh well suppose we could always sign another out of contract CB when the window shuts ................... RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (31st Aug) - Salopbaggie - 01-09-2015 I still think Gamboa has a lot of potential, IF he is played in midfield with the brief to back cover for Dawson or which other CB is playing FB RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (31st Aug) - May68 - 01-09-2015 I don't agree that we lack width. Pulis has brought in Gnabry and the two Macs so there are no excuses on that front. We do lack a bit of creativity in the middle though, especially if Pulis refuses to play Sess. My real worry is the lack of cover at full back. Actually the lack of full backs in general. RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (31st Aug) - betterthanbaird - 01-09-2015 I think we've sorted the lack of width and pace to an extent in fairness. McManaman is very capable and Gnabry seems promising. RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (31st Aug) - Salopbaggie - 01-09-2015 (01-09-2015, 19:14)bomberbrown1968 Wrote: That's that then, although in reality there are still 2 hours left and in my opinion and I'm probably in the minority but our "surprise signings" all hinged on Berahino moving on, so although disappointed I can accept why no signings have happened. Sorry BB I decided to play fair and sit quietly until the window closed, as many of us went into the window with the glass still half full attitude. However, now it is closed and ended up as many of us feared it would some months ago. I can have a little whinge. There is a major floor in your reasoning. If what you say is correct and we had all these players lined up ready for the Berahino sale, why did TP and his side kicks leave the club just after 3.00 pm, 3 if not 5 hours left before we knew for certain Berahino was not leaving. We will hear tomorrow (if not tonight) how we tried so hard to bring in players, I have been trying to remember how many players when we had a first bid knocked back and we went in with a second offer. Whinge over RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (31st Aug) - Beefy 1965 - 01-09-2015 TP after the game V Stoke .................... "the squad is lopsided we needed 3-4 more at least". Deadline day = tumbleweed... RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (31st Aug) - drewks - 01-09-2015 Like most people I'm a little disappointed by the END of the window, but I think it's wrong to blame the club's hierarchy for this. It's Spurs that are the bad boys here - as has been said, all of the other possible deals were no doubt dependent on the SB cash to finance them. Also, lets NOT do a SB and start having tantrums; IMO we've got a few pretty good players in - Defence - Chester, Evans Midfield - not so good - only McClean...but who knows, let's not dismiss him yet Forwards - Lambert (I'm sure he'll prove a very good buy), Rondon (......equally, if not more), Gnarby - there's our width & speed As 1996 said earlier, if we can get Poco, Gamboa and Sess back in the frame (COME ON TP!) we've still got a lot of talent available. Sorry, but the only disappointment for me are Spurs's methods, and SB's attitude - both shocking. I still have strong belief that we'll be fine this year RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (31st Aug) - doronron - 01-09-2015 can we look past the doom and gloom and realise we spent almost 30m this window i have never known us spend that sort of money ever . RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (31st Aug) - betterthanbaird - 01-09-2015 From our Wiki page 'in 2015 they annoyed poor Berahino', good to see our humour has stayed RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (31st Aug) - bomberbrown1968 - 01-09-2015 Fair play Salop, I did the same waited and waited and waited and maybe I'm hoping my glass is still half full and my defence of TP & JP is more in hope than anger. My theory is, rightly or wrongly that that final bid with £5M up front was made before 3pm even though it only broke around half 5 and by 3 o'clock that was it, Spurs final offer, take it or leave it and we left it which was I think we'd all agree was the right thing to do. |
