RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 16-01-2017 It may not be a marquee signing but Livermore would improve our midfield considerably younger , quicker more mobile, It will do for now with another one or two additions RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Salopbaggie - 16-01-2017 (16-01-2017, 15:03)Beefy 1965 Wrote: It may not be a marquee signing but Livermore would improve our midfield considerably younger , quicker more mobile, My view as well Beefy RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - BaggieSteve - 16-01-2017 My problem with Livermore is that I don't think he's as good as Morrison, although Mozza has had a couple of poor games recently. For me, a new signing in midfield should replace Fletcher and should be the player who dictates the way our game goes and who is a dynamic, creative player - the centre of our play. Sorry but Livermore doesn't tick those boxes. We've offered £10 million as an opener which probably means we'll have to pay more, do we really think this guy is worth that amount of money which, let's be honest, is a lot for Albion? I appreciate he's younger than others in our midfield but, for me, that about the only advantage he has over them. In Salopbaggie's previous post, his attachment said that Livermore has played all Hull's games this season apart from their recent 3-1 win over Bournemouth - as Hull are third from bottom of the table with only 20 goals scored and a goal difference of -25, that's not much of an endorsement. Sorry but very underwhelmed by the thought of Livermore. As you say, Beefy, he's no marquee signing and I'm OK with that but surely we can do better than this or are we starting the usual Albion panic buying period? RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - drewks - 16-01-2017 Just to enter into the Livermore debate, I've always been pretty impressed by him to be honest, and to look good in a team that is normally struggling to hold it's own ain't easy! No probs with him from me, Mr Pulis! RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Stairs - 16-01-2017 I would welcome Livermore. Younger and works hard in a team that have many issues - he would fit into our squad well and benefit from those around him. Could be another Phillips and turn out to be a clever purchase. Not that we have beaten West Ham or others to his signature yet! RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - BaggieSteve - 16-01-2017 But, Stairs, isn't that part of our problem. We have plenty of players who work hard or, to use the current buzzwords, "put in a shift" I'd just like some creativity in the middle of the park. However, I think I'm in the minority regarding Livermore so we'll just have to see what happens. Still feeling underwhelmed up here in Scotland, however. RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - tidy - 16-01-2017 I would be more than happy to see Livermore at the Albion. Always seems to stand out in a poor Hull team. RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - Stairs - 16-01-2017 Chris Wood will cost 15m if West Sham want him - if that is the case just imagine what Biryani would be worth if he'd put just half a shift in for the last two season - this will haunt him all his days RE: 2016/17 (Jan 015) WBA January Transfer Window - BaggieMan - 16-01-2017 Never thought Chris Wood was up to the mark in the Prem but he has done well in the Chumpionship. Did we release him for free ? If so, missed out there unless there was an ongoing sell-on clause. |
