RE: RIP Hereford United - HerefordBull - 01-05-2023 Despite some dodgy results in the last few games culminating in a 5 . 0 loss at Blyth Spartans last weekend, Hereford avoided the relegation play offs. Onto next season now with new manager, Scot Paul Caddis............his first managerial post and officially takes over today. He played for various clubs including Celtic but spent much of his playing career at Birmingham City. Recently he has been in charge of the Youth at Fleetwood Town. Time will tell how he adopts to management, but good luck to him. RE: RIP Hereford United - HerefordBull - 04-07-2023 Hereford FC are preparing for the new season and as often the case , certainly at this level, we will be looking at a brand new side and management team which has a distinctly Scottish feel! The new Manager is Paul Caddis, born in Irvine, who having played for Celtic ( first home game was against Barcelona in the Champions League!) and Dundee United moved to England and was most famous for his time at Birmingham City for whom he played 150+ games. We often talk about the three McGinn brothers up here but there are 4 football brothers in the Caddis household. Paul is joined by brothers Ryan ( Ayr United), Liam ( St Johnstone) and Dylan. ( Kilmarnock). He is joined as player / assistant Manager by another ex Birmingham player, Adam Rooney. However he is more well known in Scotland for playing many times for Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Aberdeen. I have seen both play up here and am looking forward to see what sort of fist they make of management in their first roles...................what could possibly go wrong. COYB RE: RIP Hereford United - HerefordBull - 09-08-2023 Difficult first game away to Kings Lynn last Saturday. Came away with a 2 . 2 draw so pleased with a point. Would have taken that before kick off. Darlington up next at Edgar Street so should be another tough test despite there 1 . 3 home loss to Curzon on Saturday. COYB RE: RIP Hereford United - HerefordBull - 29-08-2023 Well Caddis has underestimated what is needed in this League. He brought in a new side from mainly lower leagues but has forgotten to get players with strength and size. Some have pace but are easily pushed off the ball. Fans were asking at yesterdays 0 . 4 loss at Tamworth why midway through the second half and 3 goals down why we didn't have a striker on the pitch??? After a good start to his managerial career with 2 wins ( albeit lucky) and a draw they are now in freefall with 3 losses on the bounce. Watch this space for how long he lasts? COYW RE: RIP Hereford United - HerefordBull - 04-09-2023 4 on the bounce now..........this time to the bottom club with only 1 point before their trip to Edgar Street.............tick tock Onto Tuesday and away to Chester........what could possibly go wrong COYW RE: RIP Hereford United - HerefordBull - 13-09-2023 Well, two very late goals at Chester gave the Bulls an unlikely 2 . 1 victory, the second a stunning 35 yard shot from Aurio Teixeira. Unfortunately on to the Saturday and service was resumed with a 2 . 0 defeat to Spennymoor Town. Oh well! COYB RE: RIP Hereford United - HerefordBull - 14-09-2023 Just when Caddis could do with an "easy game" Hereford find themselves up against Anstey Nomads in the FA Cup Q2 this Saturday. Lower league opposition in the FA Cup, Nomads have 3 wins out of 4 games, 5 losses in 6 games for Hereford, what could possibly go wrong? COYW RE: RIP Hereford United - HerefordBull - 23-09-2023 After last weeks narrow win against Lower League Anstey in the FA Cup the bulls find themselves back on League duty today against Bishop Stortford. Both teams are not in the best of form with Hereford looking to turn around 5 losses in their last 6 League games. Crowds are dwindling quickly from the 3,200 + that saw the season opener so Caddis needs some sort of reaction soon from the players. We are signing at least 2 players per week on short terms and one of them , Ceesay, scored after only 3 minutes. The other new player last week was Lyden, an Australian who started his career with Aston Villa. COYB RE: RIP Hereford United - HerefordBull - 20-10-2023 After last weeks heroics against Rochdale in the FA Cup, this week, Hereford find themselves back again at Edgar Street in a League game against Curzon Ashton. Curzon are going well this year and lie 5th in the table so should be interesting to see if we can raise our game again. In all honesty we were fortunate to win last week with Pond in goal having a MOM performance. COYW Forgot to mention that it will be a return to Edgar Street for Miles Storey who spent the last couple of seasons with us. Plenty of experience there including Europe when he was playing for Aberdeen FC. Lets hope he forgot his shooting boots today although in my experience when old players return they produce MOM performances. RE: RIP Hereford United - HerefordBull - 28-10-2023 After a 3.1 win v Curzon last week followed by a 3.1 loss on Tuesday against Alfreton Hereford continued their mixed fortunes today with a 2.1 win at Chorley. They are above the Bulls having had a good start to the season. The League is very tight and Hereford now sit mid table 3 points above the bottom 3 but also 3 points off the top 6. COYB |
