French Open 2017

Nadal pumps Wawrinka 6-2 6-3 6-1 to win the title. Wawrinka being the one who saw off Murray in the semis. Are we seeing a Nadal resurgence? Despite being the bee's knees on clay, he hasn't won there since 2014.

Djokovic ain't what he used to be. Murray is still number one but struggling. Federer is only a half a season player now. So why not Rafa?
Well the next generation are coming through at last. Thiem looks good and Raonic will win a grand slam soon.

If Nadal's knees can carry him through a full season, particularly on grass and artificial courts, then there is a chance he could rise to the top again. But I expect the wear and tear of the faster surfaces used at Wimbledon and the US Open will be too much for him. He is the master on clay, always has been, but it suits the type of injuries he suffers from more than the others do.
