Hibs v Hamilton Accies, Fri 2 October, KO 7.45pm

Well this is one fixture that couldn't come quick enough for Hibs after that 3-0 defeat v Celtic. We need to win it and win it well, thereby boosting confidence and moving on to other less demanding but important Scot Prem fixtures after the challenges of the past fortnight. C'mon Hibs! We need to "push on" positively towards the end of October when we play Hertz in that deferred Scot Cup semi-final at Hampden Park.

FT and Hibs win 3-2 in a really strange game that should never have been a close affair at all!! Hibs started off so brightly with Martin Boyle "in the mood" and "ripping" Accies defenders at will!! However, I wish he would "bury" some of the scoring opps that "come his way" or those he creates himself!! Nisbet scored a couple of good goals but really should've scored his "hat trick" after 65 mins - how many scoring chances d'ya want mate????? Doidge "in the same boat" re not being clinical in front of goal but I must add that the Accies goalie really had a "blinder" with some miraculous saves. Rocky's pen save more crucial than anyone anticipated and well done "big man"! Thumb up McGinn poss lucky to stay on the pitch after conceding that pen. Ultimately it is 3 pts "in the bag" but a number of issues for Jack Ross to ponder in a game that was comfortable for Hibs. The loss of Newell at HT to a shoulder injury a bigger factor than one realised at the time but we must be more clinical in front of goal TBF!

Should have been more comfortable in the end, but our game management in the last 20 left a bit to be desired. But the positives are there to be seen - young nisbet has bags of natural ability and is just going to get better and better.

Couple of the right kind of signings at the end of the window and we could have a right good chance of 3rd.

Well it looks like the Magennis signing is "in the bag" with St Mirren reluctantly accepting a six fig fee from Hibs/Ron Gordon for a mid player who is potentially gonna be a vg addition to Hibs mid formation. The medical check has been completed at ER as well. I suspect the sad development re Scott Allan's impending retirement prob "forced Hibs hand" in swiftly moving for an exciting prospect like Magennis.
