I'd prefer it if we or an ally sent a PGM, Cruise or otherwise reasonably accurate device to the Kremlin that politely knocks on his door and goes bang when he opens it.
Of course that would be seen as an open act of aggression that the next wingbat would react to and if they find a flag of the country that sent it on the shrapnel, then they'll be sending a long range ballistics back their way. Thing is their next wingbat in line after Putin is seemingly about as much use as Bodgit drawing Bingo balls, as nobody stands up to Putin.
I wouldn't put it past this or the next Russian wingbat to use the same shit he supplied Assad with i.e. dropping barrels of chemicals on them. That said, he's used very little in the way or airstrikes so far, normally it's the first armed combat way of getting an advantage. Yes he apparently sent a load of jellycopters in somewhere important early days, anyone seen them still buzzing around? No, me neither.
But I read somewhere Putin sold off most of his Air Force and Navy kit to concentrate on webwars (ciberwars to the Dr. Who crowd) - not that it stops them wandering past us every so often with the few big bits of kit they still have left.
Of course, Russia officially don't get involved in naughty boys stuff on t'interweb, or hacking Faceache and other multi meedja websites in addition to paying young women for shaking their bits around on er, other websites where their Just (Good) Friends er let 'em all hang out.
