Martin Canning has been named caretaker player-coach of Hamilton Academical, the club have announced as Alex Neil was confirmed as Norwich City boss.

Big loss for Hamilton who have gone from strength to strength under Neil. Going to be difficult to replace him but hopefully the coaches have been watching and learning and can step up!

Ive said it before but I really rate the coaches who manage in the Scots leagues with little money
Only trouble is when a Managers job of worth comes up the same old names are banded around too much
The likes of Mcinnes, McNamara, Hartley and Mccall have done superb jobs north of the border, not that i`m saying suddenly get one to take over at Liverpool but they do have potential to go much further
