Johnson watch activated - the nightmare begins for the UK!!
We've been to the belated launch of Anne & Betty United By The Struggle in Barnsley tonight. Ian Clayton cowrote it with Anne Scargill and Betty Cook. Actresses Maxine Peake and Carla Henry did readings from the book. It was a good evening. Margaret Thatcher, Boris Johnson and Neil Kinnock did not come out well!

It's a good read.

Betty Cook should have been a MP. Maxine Peake should definitely consider it although she's probably too left for labour, unfortunately.

Johnson's crass comments about the miners got a mention. Betty told it how it was. She wished he could be sent down a mine and for it to be capped. Laugh

And Johnson's popularity rating drops even further than his last rating a couple of weeks ago. Anybody surprised esp after that ridiculous and impudent performance in Scotland trying to glorify Thatcher who never had an inkling of interest in climate change anyway!! No apology from this moron who has plummeted to a new depth of shameless behaviour that is clearly linked to some kinda warped Brit govt agenda. But, in reality, this govt is ineffective and totally dysfunctional (the same as Johnson), an absolute disgrace!!

Boris trying to make out the mines being closed was somehow an achievement of that witch thatcher even in jest is xxxx insulting.

It was a national resource, that employed 250k people back in the day. Thatcher wanted to destroy the unions and then speed up her deindustrialization of the UK, knowing full well what it would do to the unemployment figures and communities.

The environment is a key issue now and would have meant the industry would have to have been scaled right back, but back then thatcher just wanted lots of cheap labour to be exploited.

As recently as 2013, the UK imported 50.6 billion tonnes of coal, the most in our entire history. Most of it from Australia and Russia.

So we really should be spared even jokes about the tories being somehow visionary in this area.

Given that all the coal powered stations were sooner or later converted to gas, what a green visionary she was ....... it's just Bodgit doing more gaslighting and doing what he only ever does - winding up the opposition, in whatever form that might be, political, environmental, scientific, etc.

He hasn't a policy or a plan on paper or in his head other than to come out with some well rehearsed quip, however crass, while dressed as Bob the Builder or Larry the Lab Rat to avoid answering any questions. That has been evident since the day the referendum results were announced - though back then it was Farage, Cameron et al who to a man were without a plan (and they both resigned to dodge the shit-fest that has followed).

Vg and fitting comments re Johnson et al! Here's a recent description of Britain from the Irish Times newspaper: "Only a dysfunctional political culture could conclude that a showman, a proven liar, a fraudster with such limited ability, with such disqualifying flaws and such a meagre track record is the one to lead any government at such a dangerous time". IMO very few people would take issue with that description, except perhaps to add that Johnson and his cohorts are also bullies and cowards. They run from confrontation even when it may be in their interest to "stick around", and they are utterly devoid of even the smallest degree of self-awareness. What I find astonishing is the blatant hypocrisy attached to this Brit govt eg their Sanctions Act (through the Brit Foreign Office) enabling the Brit govt to introduce sanctions/an anti-corruption strategy against undemocratic regimes in compliance with UN obligations - INTRODUCING SANCTIONS AGAINST REGIMES WHO HAVE NO RESPECT FOR DEMOCRACY????????? The hypocrisy is absolutely glaring!! I won't dwell on the anti-democratic Scottish self-determination issue at all and that is not just coming from a Tory leader either!! Their own shameless attacks on democratic principles, truth and the "rule of law" have been consistent and ongoing for a long time. There must be officials of other nations (incl Scotland) who stand astonished when the UK lectures them on democracy and democratic values while, in reality, its constitution also espouses the world's second greatest unelected chamber making laws - the HOC is "stuffed to the rafters" with an enormous number of political has-beens, misfits, malcontents, clerics and "purchasers of titles" - AND THEY HAVE THE GALL TO LECTURE OTHERS ON DEMOCRACY!!!!???

Little Britain wants to trade with the world while remaining as a bunch of Little Englanders dragging the Scots, Welsh and maybe Norn Iron along with them. That's how the rest of the world sees us when the thick end of half of us wanted, and still want nothing to do with these idiots.

The House of Commons majority is on the back of First past the Post majorities, not an electoral majority of votes. The rest of Europe (World) pretty much worked this out years ago.

There's us and a few of our former colonies still hanging on to it. I wonder why?

Another former benefit bites the dust. Rip-off Britain kicks into yet another higher gear.
Are roaming charges part of the wonderful deals Ms. Truss is setting up with her tinpot deals elsewhere around the world?

Thought not.

Army on standby to restock Britain’s shelves amid truck driver shortage
Up to 2,000 military HGV drivers on standby – however Britain is over 100,000 lorry drivers short.

The clowntramp has sleepwalked into this potential disaster like the clueless, lazy arsehole that he is.

Can you imagine the howls of outrage if this was a labour government ?
