It clearly won't happen in a petition like this one but one can only wish for such a symbolic moment!!

Only problem with that petition is people who live in other countries have been signing it as well.

That's funny because before I digitally signed it a question that is asked is if the petitioner is a UK citizen + UK address + e mail address. I'm assuming that is how officials can track where the petitioning "hot spots" are in the UK.

What is gonna change on a "meaningful vote" next week anyway??I think it is the case that The Speaker, John Bercow, reiterates his stance re a 3rd vote with no change!!! I concur with Nicola Sturgeon's line that, in view of this utter chaos and crisis, Article 50 be revoked and "be done with it"!! Absolutely 100%!! DO IT!!!!!

And it now appears that a 3rd MF may not happen next week anyway. If that is the case, what is the new way forward?? What is the alternative plan requested by the EU? Option C , a general election or a 2nd referendum or end Brexit and revoke Article 50?

Well over a million anti Brexit demonstrators marching on London today. I'd luv to be among them but can't due to other commitments. I'm not advocating this but I'm beginning to wonder if this kinda huge rally has to be an anti poll tax style of confrontational demonstration to finally focus this govt to GTF and start listening to the "remain" population of this country who have been watching and listening with great frustration and with no reason to alter our stance re holding on to our current EU membership!!

,,,Meanwhile Farage gives an interview in a beer garden with the leave marchers. Looks about 50 of them tops.

Farage: 'Parliament is frustrating the will of the people' Laugh Laugh Laugh

May has to get the xxxx out the way and let the people speak on this, whether its a general election or a referendum.

Yep! I genuinely believe there is a much bigger potential "remain" vote than antagonists like Farage and other Brexit clowns insinuate and f### some of these opinion polls that they occasionally refer to!!! That is actually why they don't want it to happen - the "real" will of the people will prevail if given the chance!! I also notice the organiser of the "people's march" has received death threats and all kindsa abusive comms etc!!! I remember Gina Miller suffered the same intimidation for months n months and was given Police protection. Why is it that this kinda behaviour is predominantly attached to the Brexit "cause"??? All kindsa nasty/shady shenanigans going on plus the murder of a Labour MP!

Out of curiosity, if there was a general election, what difference would that make? Neither the Tories nor Labour have said they would campaign on stopping Brexit, the Lib Dems and SNP I believe have but they won’t be a deciding factor in a GE anyway. Surely the only way to stop this now is for May to revoke Article 50, or for May to agree to a new referendum, a GE might not move us any further forward at all.

Yep! I concur with that view. Did you watch Labour's Tom Watson yesterday pledging his support to the people's demonstration at Hyde Park and then presenting his case for Labour's Brexit option - he was jeered by thousands of protesters who are fed up of any shit version of Brexit that these shameless c#### wanna still foist on this country!!! Thumb down Also very noticeable that Nicola was given a huge reception and that is because she has rigidly stuck to the same stance from day 1 - Scotland voted to remain and our population % for remain is well up from the 62% mark in June 2016! So remaining in the single market and revoking Article 50 is naturally the target. I was intrigued to see the press response after yesterday's demo and no surprise with the limited coverage of it AGAIN. Their coverage has switched to May poss being ousted by her Cabinet and two Tory erse holes named Gove and Lidington being mentioned as a temporary replacement as PM - what a joke!!! As commented in previous OPs/threads, this country's media coverage is just like 1930s Germany with suppression of stuff that many newspapers and tabloids don't like, not on their "agenda" and poss being "bought off" by political antagonists. So much for proper democracy and progressive governance in this country!! Thumb down

And now Letwin's motion to approve Parliamentary participation/control in deciding an appropriate Brexit option is passed by about 40 votes!!? So we can see if the UK Parliament is gonna say yes to another version of Brexit (or another direction?), possibly a "soft" one, that is still a daft one because it will not compare economically with the current one!! Nuts!!

If nothing else it'd force the two big parties to actually agree and put in writing how they envisage Brexit being anything less than a disaster A Labour (or Labour led) government might be able to negotiate something different with the EU, and would obviously be better for the country in other ways simply by virtue of not being Tories.

I think we are way past the point where anyone is going to get what they want, and parliament is paralysed so it has to go back to the people somehow. A second referendum obviously is the only option that makes sense at this point. It's the most democratic way of deciding the matter, and it means that MPs can pass the buck.

Problem is a tory government is unlikely to go for either.

The EU have passed Article 13. This means that Meme's, Gifs will be banned. It will affect Youtubers and their content and will mean Youtubers won't be able to do reaction videos to other Youtubers, it will also mean that people who play games and then stream them on Twitch or Youtube won't be able to do that as it will be classed as Copyright under Article 13. I see the Younger Generation all across Europe rising up and protesting against this, this is wrong! Whether we are in the EU or not it will affect us a lot. The US are doing something very similar and so are the Tories. The Tories are trying to block Porn and control the internet and this will come in affect in April and you will need ID verification by using your passport or going to a newsagents and buying a "Porn pass" but you will need ID or your passport to buy a pass and your details then go on a database. Gives a whole new meaning to Blue passports.

This is the beginning 1984 is well and truly here.

A good end line Matt. Indeed "1984" or Huxley's "Brave New World" come to mind.
