Starts on Saturday at the Crucible in Sheffield. But at the moment, the qualifying has reached the 2nd round.

Jimmy White is playing tonight, but already gone are legends of the game Steve Davis (beaten 10-1 by Kurt Maflin) and Peter Ebdon (beaten by Stuart Carrington.

Qualifying is on until Wednesday. Not sure when the main draw is being made, but the seeds have been put in place in the draw.....

So who do we all fancy to win it this time? O'Sullivan again? Selby? Ding?

Personally, I think this could be the Year of the Trump.

Will be difficult to bet against Ronnie but it all depends which Ronnie turns up!!

He's done the same preparation as the last couple of years. Saying he will play in China but then pulling out, leaving all his opponents to gottraipsing all over the globe while he stays at home nice and relaxed. Not that that should have any bearing on the matter, but it seems to work for him.

I wondered what Robbie Williams had been doing since he left take that for a second time, now I know!!Big Grin

Mark Williams v Matthew Stevens is a good first round match up with an ex-world champion and runner up playing.  I assume Stevens has fallen on bad times since he was in the final??

Not that bad, SCO. Just outside the top 16.

I stand corrected. He's down at 35.

Well well well. Selby cruising into the next round at 8-4 has suddenly been stopped in his tracks. The Norweigan Kurt Maflin has drawn level at 8-8.
Is the Crucible Champions Curse about to strike again?

Glad we signed up to Eurosport by the way. This is much better without that idiot Virgo commentating. Thumb up

9-8 to Maflin now.
